yes, the israelis have had big successes with their tanks, they destroyed over two hundred arab tanks for a loss of three of their own in one engagement. not on the scale of Kursk though. but that is the issue really, every time people write off tanks, another tank battle comes along...

also laser gatling guns...

Wolfshade
07-05-2013, 06:32 AM
Yes, it is all about the win and not about the game.

I always feel dreadfully embarrased when I am tabling my opponent and every dice roll seems to go my way, what I need 6 5+ saves? roll :dice like thunder: a collection of 5s and 6s show

Psychosplodge

You should stike a pose and say something like,

Eat superior dice rolling you lousy cur

Mr Mystery
07-05-2013, 06:40 AM
Yup :)

I'm a well known luck vampire in my area. If you play me, the dice gang up on you, and shower me in high rolling love when I need it!

But a bit of humility, shown throughout the game, and no pretence that jammy rolling is anything to do with tactics or strategy? All is fine!

eldargal
07-05-2013, 06:49 AM
I'm a bit like that, also the cockier the opponent the worse they roll. It happens when they make sexist comments though, every time someone (usually newbie or guets) make a remark about going on easy on my because I'm a girl or that girls can't play I tend to table them by turn 3.

I have zero concerns about Apocalypse in terms of datasheets, you can always make your own, old apocalypse encouraged it. I hope GW also put blank datasheet pdfs up on their website.

so much for Saatchi's attack on Ms Lawson being playful...

"I feel that I have clearly been a disappointment to Nigella during the last year or so, and I am disappointed that she was advised to make no public comment to explain that I abhor violence of any kind against women, and have never abused her physically in any way."

"I am sorry that we had a row. I am sorry she was upset. I am even more sorry that this is the end of our marriage," he added.

never abused her physically, except of course for the time he did and was caught on camera. saying he is sorry that she is upset is an unbelievably sh***y thing to do, what a total smeghead.

Aw fact I wish I had remembered on the 4th of July: Libertas/Liberty was originally a Roman goddess who was also the patron protectress of prostitues and known as the Mother of Harlots. So the symbol of New York and one of the symbols of 'merican liberty, apart from being French, is also the goddess of wh*res.

Well it was going to happen, the subscription model is on it's last legs and some form of free to play is the future. So long as it isn't pay to win (and it doesn't have to be) it really isn't bad. The item datamined from WoW is a potion you can buy which increases exp by 100%, not really pay to win. Surprised it has taken Blizzard this long really, people have been paying power levelers to level their characters since the beginning.

I usually check out each WoW expansion for a while, I actually like Pandaria but my main is 90 or whatever the level cap is now while my next alt is...62. Leveling through the old game was tedious enough, though they shook it up with Cataclysm. Leveling through teh first expansion Burning Crusade stuff is just a lesson in boredom though, I can't manage it. If I still played WoW regularly I would pay for this potion.

These are from a book called Disorder in the Courts and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while the exchanges were taking place.

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, 'Where am I, Cathy?'
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!
_______________________________
ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active?
WITNESS: No, I just lie there.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: What is your date of birth?
WITNESS: July 18th.
ATTORNEY: What year?
WITNESS: Every year.
_____________________________________
ATTORNEY: How old is your son, the one living with you?
WITNESS: Thirty-eight or thirty-five, I can't remember which.
ATTORNEY: How long has he lived with you?
WITNESS: Forty-five years.
_________________________________
ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget..
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?
___________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
____________________________________

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He's 20, much like your IQ.
___________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: Are you ****ting me?
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
WITNESS: Getting laid
____________________________________________

ATTORNEY: She had three children , right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death..
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Take a guess.
___________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I'm going with male.
_____________________________________
ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
______________________________________
ATTORNEY: Doctor , how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral...
_________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 PM
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?

______________________________________
And last:

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No..
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

man who made threats to kill people on facebook jailed. what I find hard to swallow about this story is that apparently he showed 'genuine remorse' over his actions. saying you are going to get a gun, drive into a school, and kill people is not an off the cuff remark. it isn't a badly worded or heat of the moment comment you later regret, or a joke gone too far. it is a very deliberate thing to say, I find it hard to believe he posted all these threats, on two different tribute pages, and now realises he has done wrong...

We certainly have complained at the number of people previously so who knows if this is a good thing or bad, but with the price of the ticket the only thing I know for sure is that I won't be there to tell first hand.

Not really. Trying to learn how to run a museum so I can have my own one day, need to work my way up the ladder so I learn how they do their jobs, not kill them off.:(

I would volunteer TDA, but he doesn't need a mask, so cannot be unmasked!

FFS

First the trains. Then we stopped them doing it to the NHS. So now they've decided to sell the post office.

As someone has pointed out, the public can now buy shares in something, that at present is already owned by the people

Even Adam Smith supported a single post system on the basis of It works.
They've already made it difficult for years by letting competitors collect mail, take a cut and then make Royal Mail deliver it at a much lower rate than they would have before.
Plus apparently about fifty percent of the staff are surplus to requirements and don't do anything and there is far too much management.
And when they take agency staff on there is no English language requirement, which does wonders for sorting mail by address...

I may have some inside knowledge

Wolfshade

I am generally in favour of things being the private sector, however, I feel very strongly that the Post Office should be owned by the public.
We are incredibly lucky here to have a postal service that runs daily deliveries to your door. Want to post from the Scilly Isles to Outer Herbidies, that costs the same as a letter to your neighbour and can be delievered next day with a 1st class stamp.
What we see in other countries with privatiesed Post Offices are people needing to rent a post box which they then have to visit to collect their post, that isn't an improvement.
In rural areas the Post Office don't just deliever letters, they also run ferries and minibuses to larger areas and back, we would lose this.
We see it already, large couries like TNT who already do deliveries of their own, subcontract back to the Royal Mail to get their letters/parcels delievered to out of the way places.

Trouble is if you don't have trains + busses / trams / trolleybuses you end up with them in competition. For instance a village near me has a station and bus stop, they have a bus and train every 30 minutes, but they arrive at the same time at opposite ends of the village so if you miss one you can't get the other.
What you need is proper integration between them both.

Please bear in mind this is going back to the 70s. As a kid I had a skin complaint that resulted in me having body warts on my arms and abdomen. About 20 in total and if I remember rightly it was a virus that caused them. Anyway apparently it was a very rare condition that our hospital ha not seen before. The Dermatologist who was looking into my case thought he had the answer. This was to have four nurses pin me down to a bed and jab each of my warts with cocktail sticks dipped in vinegar. Very painful and not just a little scary. My mother obviously became a bit dubious about this type of treatment and my mother went for a second opinion.
2nd Docs solution was an acidic brown paint like substance that was painted over the warts daily, this paint slowly burnt the warts away and after a couple months of treatment I was cured and only had a few scars to show for it. Sure the treatment was a little uncomfortable, but nothing like being stabbed all over with cocktail sticks. Unsurprisingly I have a huge phobia of needles.

My understanding is it's always a virus, but one that sticks around in a fairly localized area, so the trick is just to remove the infected tissue. Whether you do that through freezing, burning, excavation, or changing the environment of the tissue (which is why washing a lot might work, and duct taping the area sometimes works as well) is not really important. The catch is that it's hard to be sure you've caught every last infected cell without doing a lot more tissue damage than you really "need." Thing that worked best for me was having a doctor excavate the wart with what was essentially a tiny melon baller-shaped razor, then cauterize the resulting crater with an electrical probe.
