Yup. Can't blame the players, but it does make me look forward to their new book more than their players do!

As an aside, watching Game of Thrones and I don't get why Brienne of Tarth is meant to be a minger.

I really rather fancy her myself.

Brienne is distinctly unfeminine in appearance, and is considered extremely unattractive by Westerosi (http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Westeros) standards. She is very tall, muscular, flat-chested and ungainly, with straw-colored hair and broad, coarse features that are covered in freckles. Her teeth are prominent and crooked, and after her capture by the Brave Companions (http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Brave_Companions), two of them are knocked out. Her mouth is wide, her lips are swollen, and her nose has been broken more than once. Despite her overall ugliness, Jaime Lannister (http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jaime_Lannister) notices that her large blue eyes are surprisingly pretty and shine with confidence in battle.

This is why

Also, my Tomb Kings have just recently killed a Wood Elf army.

Of course you do know boys and girls that there is only one Santa, and it is I. But because you Deadlift are spreading the joy and cheer of Christmas in my good name and bringing happiness to boys and girls then your going to find some lovely holiday hobby items under the tree.
Only 2 weeks to go now folks and I will be starting the rounds. If any of you lovely BoLs folks have children it could be fun for them to follow my progress via this link

Santa is of course white or white-ish.
Santa is Sinterklaas which is a short form of Saint Nicholas.

Sinterklaas is assisted by many mischievous helpers with black faces and colourful Moorish dresses.

But enough of the mischeivious Moors.

We know that Nicholas was born Patara, Lycia (now part of modern day Turkey) with probably Greek ancestory, the area was predominately greek in heritage. So he was probably mediterranean looking...

Because this the consumer age where instant gratification is all. Whereby any Tom, Dick or Harry believe that they have a divine right to the same stnadard of living as people who are earning twice as much money.

My sisters and I all spend different amounts of money on Chistmas presents but each of us according to our income and that is fine, we all acknowledge that this is the case but there is no resentment about it.

Never tried that, I'm always looking for alternatives to creatine, I usually make good gains when I'm on it, but it makes me irritable, randy as a billygoat and can give me slight depression, particularly when it seems to be working at its best :( My Protein is good quality stuff, I use their chocolate hazelnut protein, http://www.bulkpowders.co.uk/ is good as well, their protein and Creatapure creatine is really good value. Protein shakes for me are all about convenience, it's a lot easier to make a quick shake up and bung in some oats and quickly down it than it is the cook up yet another slab of chicken. I'm usually trying to eat about 300 to 400 grams of protein a day and whey makes it a lot easier and cheaper to to do. :D.

Just read this open letter to Kanye West from a police chief in regards to Kanye's statement that he's putting his life on the line every time he performs. Tit.

http://ca.omg.yahoo.com/blogs/the-juice-celeb-news/police-chief-blasts-kanye-open-letter-rapper-compares-193833247.html

I'm not quite sure what happened to Kanye, but his dissent into knobdom is complete.

Dear Kanye West,

I am honored to be writing such an important star. I am a mere Internet sensation. I’m not sure I am worthy to address you, although the Huffington Post did say I was “Humorous and Insanely Popular.” I don't pay much attention to those things. Anyway, please excuse my interference in your life for a quick second.

I read your interview and also watched it on video. You said:
“I’m just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally.….and I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.”

I want to thank you for putting your life on the line for all of us every day. I know that being a rapper is tough work. I have tried to rap, and it is very difficult to keep up with the pulse of the rhyme flow…although when Ice Ice Baby comes on the radio, I can usually keep up with ol’ Vanilla. Anywho, your job is just some very dangerous work. Most people don't consider... if you rap really fast, without a chance to inhale, you could pass out and hit your head.

That last paragraph was covered in sarcasm. I’m letting you know, just so you do not think I agree with your very ignorant assessment of your career (or any other performer)as it relates to a person in the military or a police officer’s service. You sir, are as misguided as they come. I do have a suggestion for you. Since you are accustomed to danger, from your life as an international rapper, I am strongly encouraging you immediately abandon you career as a super star and join the military. After joining, I would like you to volunteer to be deployed in Afghanistan or one of the numerous other forward locations where our men an women are currently serving. When the Taliban starts shooting at you, perhaps you could stand up and let the words flow. It could be something like “I’m Kanye West, wearing a flak vest.” I’m sure they would just drop weapons and surrender. You could quite possibly end all wars, just from the enemy being star-struck.

Your line of thinking is part of the problem in the world today….which include entertainers thinking they are something more than just entertainers. I know it is supply and demand and the demand for your services is high. I get economics. What I do not get is you EVER comparing what you do for a living to our heroic military members, who are always in harm’s way… and my brother and sister police officers who have to go to work carrying weapons and wearing a bullet-proof vest to protect themselves.

Check yourself, before you wreck yourself….Chief Oliver.

I used to cycle a lot, and it gave me big leg muscles. But seeing as I now commute to London (1 hour by coach) my cycling would be more limited.

Plus there's nowhere for me to safely and securely store a bike :(

But the pain? Doing what I do and just cracking on with it. It's not exactly agony, and I can feel it receding. Which is always nice.

Wolfshade
12-16-2013, 04:26 AM
1 hour by coach through london, so what about 30mins walk ;)

Fun Fact: Journeys 8 miles and under you are quicker to cycle than to use public transport.

Just be mindful of the pain and becareful not to do too much.

Every so often I get doms and that hurts and I know I must have done too much the day before :(

Kind of reflects my changing political attitudes....

Don't panic, still a Leftie, but I'm now leaning more toward centre, supporting not so much 'helping' the poor, as ensuring they have opportunities to break out of poverty. Difference as I see it is...

Helping the poor. That's essentially handouts. Housing Benefit. Unemployment Benefit. Child Support*, Tax Credits etc are all well and good, and make sure nobody starves or is missing a roof over their head, but for many they have become an alternative to work. And that's just bloody stupid, but has come about for various reasons, the top two (in order) being one, wages have not kept pace with inflation for a long, long time. Minimum wage has helped, but also hindered. Benefits however have kept pace, so the sad truth is many families are genuinely better off on benefits. Two? It's become an institution. Certain areas have seen their traditional industry either exported, fall out of use, or be forcibly shut down, forcing one generation onto benefits due to a genuine lack of work. But now, further generations are just sitting on benefits, even though the areas are starting to regenerate quite nicely.

Ensuring it's possible to break that cycle? Better education, and not just the current obsession with academia and it's subjects. Some people **** up school, and realise this later in life. Ensure free access to certain actually useful courses for them so they can do something productive with their lives. Take up the minimum wage further, whilst simultaneously reducing the amount of benefits. Both have been tried, but never together. Two handed approach would level things much quicker, and encourage people to go out and get a job. The more money a society has, the more money that society spends. This supports jobs, meaning more money, reciprocating nicely as long as recession due to mindless borrowing of money can be avoided.

And sadly, none of our political parties in the UK are offering a whole solution. I agree benefits need to be reduced, as they were never intended to fully replace a working income. But that working income also has to be able to pay the bills!

*Child Benefit. I have no children. Don't want children. And I'm helping to pay for your children because?

I basically agree with what you say above, though I stopped reading the Daily Mail as it was too left wing...

Don't want children. And I'm helping to pay for your children because?
Because we are underpopulated?
Because we have too many jobs and not enough labour?
Because we have too many resources?

Eurgh. Anarchists.

Sick of their mindless drivel on the Facebook.

Always 'don't be a slave to the wage man!' or 'Free the weed man! the man is keeping it down, man!'. Going about how a capitalist society isn't free, because like, you like, work for your money man. You're not like, free man. Because you work for your money, man'.

Well, tell you what, Mr Pseudo-Anarchist, in your stupid V Mask (mass produced in the far east. Whoops!).... When you're left in a state retirement home, being ignored by the uncaring staff, sat in a puddle of your own effluvia, your mind wrecked by drugs, I'll give a you a ring from my holiday home, and remind you, I am indeed free. And thanks to my work benefits and decent pension fund, able to afford good healthcare throughout my years, and doing very, very nicely, thankyou very much indeed. And yes, I'll still be free. You moron.

yup, a girl I know is forever banging on about the evils of capitalism and how we should live with no government and no birth certificates and everyone should just trade stuff. yet she makes a living as a web designer and spends all day every day in front of the computer. she currently has no suggestions as to how she would get electricity, internet, or PC components in her ideal state.

my ex housemate was similarly stupid, and people like that seem to endlessly bang on about things like the police service as though they exist purely to be evil and keep the man down. as though they are some sort of completely unnecessary spiteful entity, rather than something that has developed as a necessity.

I think that this raises a question for me about the role of prison in society.

First of all, we work on the assumption that everyone can change, hence very few sentences that are handed out end up being whole life sentences, what with early appeal etc. This is based on the concept of remission of sin. So, is the point of Prison to deter people? I think it *should* be, but fear that it is not, especially when one considers how strange some of the sentencing is, oh you killed people with your car? 1 year for you. You defrauded a massive organisation of millions of pounds, well that's 50 years. So clearly as a society we view money as more important than human life/dignity. Also, since people commit crimes it can be argued that prison as a deterrant does not work. So is the point re-education? No, but perhaps it should be. Certainly there needs to be a punishment and hardship involved in prison, but if those who are incarcerated do not have the reason why they do what they do explored and understood, then they are doomed to repeat the same offense again.
Take Watkins case, he goes to prison for 35 years, he comes out aged 70, how much will society have changed under those years, what use will he be to society at that point? No relevant experiance to get a job and given his crime very few would employ him. The cost to the individual is high, but the financial cost to society is higher. He will come out dependent on the state, which he has been for the last 35 years.

I have an attachment to Pulp as a band.

It might seem entirely pedestrian but back in 1996 I was studying for my GCSE's, and that was my only CD. Poor old Different Class took a battering, but it's a fantastic album.

Clearly you have had your problems in life (as have we all), and I for one find it reassuring that there is always somewhere like this that you can come 24/7 to tell others about them, whether they are interested or not - remember; just because we don't care, doesn't mean we don't understand! ;)

Exactly, I have so many memories attached to Lostprophets, and this is the main reason why I have personally found this news so hard to take. I don't want to have to associate things in the past to this travesty, I want to remember the happy times, I just have to forget the attachment.
