Not the full story....
But definite confirmation no mention of her general well being before we got to my room. Which is nice.
But, back to work tomorrow, and time to contact BUPA about whether testing is covered under my health plan. Would be the first time I've used the cover.
Otherwise need to arrange an NHS test.... :S

No dude. She raped me.
Sounds ridiculous to say it out loud, but that's what it is.
Not keen in telling the police though. Not only is there little chance of finding her, but if it comes to he said, she said..... Well, I'm 6'2"ish, around 17 stone, and was out on the pull. She is probably 5'4", and a mental health patient. All it take is a single counter allegation, and that's me done for.
Best to leave where it is, and just get myself checked.

Oddly, mentally I'm absolutely fine.
I'm fairly well known for being mentally strong. Where it comes from, I'm not sure. But I accept what's happened to me, and stressing about it won't change what happened or how it happened.
Just means I need to be a lot more careful in the future.
This approach is not meant to be some kind of benchmark. I'm mentally different, this I know! :) I take all things in my stride, and hope for the best. The approach of others can, and to be honest probably should, vary.

Matey, I wasn't sure how to reply to your dilemma so I took some time to think about it, whilst you seem to be ok with what happened and reluctant to report, you may want to think about others she may have or will take advantage of in a similar way. It's your call Buddy, but even an anonymous letter to her health care unit might be a good idea. For others safety and ultimately maybe even hers. You never know she may even been on the offenders list and god forbid she's got anything catching you could be preventing anybody else being infected too. Fingers crossed matey you will be fine. All the very best.

Oh wow, just scrolled back to read through your story. That's some messed up stuff you've had to go through buddy, I wish you all the best. I know you've said you want to leave it, but I really would consider reporting it to the police. It's sexual assault and that needs dealing with, before she does it to others. If she's a mental health patient that should make her much easier to track down. But it's your call, we are all here to offer you whatever virtual support you need.

Well, tough. Belt up, grow up. You're big boys and girls now. Just like everyone else the money is given to you (to me by employer, to you by the state), and it's your responsibility to ensure this then gets passed to your landlord. Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 03:26 AM
Yeah, or if you prove that losing your licence would suffer you undue hardship
Or:
That the privilege of the motorist is extreme
or:
The law is inadequate with dealing with motor offences (like the chappie who being banned from driving for 12-months left court got in his car and drove home...)
Psychosplodge

But you could argue as he didn't crash he was in control of the vehicle :D
Plus with all the cameras these days the points system is a bit outdated.
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 03:44 AM
Certainly. It is a cash cow this enforcement technology.
Birmingham City council have set up 10 cameras to capture and fine drivers using bus lanes, in two months of operations they have racked up £2.4million, it is a licence to print money.
In all reality, the average motorway speed is in the 80s (there is a slight regional variation, even taking into account the ~10% of flow that is restricted to 60), but all the police would need to do is sit on almost any bridge over a motorway or in the concealed police lay-bys set up a speed camera and they could issue 1000s of tickets per hour.
Then you have this article from the Times http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/public/cyclesafety/article3966743.ece I wonder how many cars nationally would be flagged up if other police forces sat at the road side with their ANPR camera switched on fining all those without insurance or tax.
It would certainly be an unpopular move, but might just fill the chancellor's missing £25 billion...

I've never seen a camera van remove uninsured motorists from the road.
Now when they have them with the fleet of police cars to stop and confiscate them that is a worthwhile exercise.
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 04:24 AM
I have seen things like cars on hardshoulders with massive stickers on them saying that they have been seized by the police for having no insurance, not sure if they are genuine or part of a pr campaign by the local police force.
I've also seen stop and tests on whole stretches of road, so every car would be checked to see if it was legal and that the driver could drive it. It caused horrendous delays but apparently was a "sucess" from what I recall, how it was measured or the outcomes where I have no recollection
Psychosplodge
01-07-2014, 04:37 AM
A former colleague came back to his car once to find a massive sticker on saying police aware - no insurance.
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 04:43 AM
A former collegue of mine who did have insurance said that there was no point. He made a risk calculation and decided that the cost of insurance compared with the likelihood of bening caught without and the fine imposed meant that there was no point, citing that he expected to be caught once every 3 years at worst which would pay for itself.

He did most of his driving round rural worcestershire so the chances of coming upon the rozzers would be quite low

Ah, that would explain it...
Mr Mystery
01-07-2014, 05:49 AM
There's now a centralised database of which cars aren't registered as scrapped, compared to the MIB Database of who is insured.
This means the Police can now actively seek this out, whereas previously they couldn't.
You also now require insurance even if the vehicle is off the road!
Psychosplodge
01-07-2014, 05:57 AM
Not if you sorn it... but then its not taxed so cant be on the road anyway...
Mr Mystery

Mr Mystery
01-07-2014, 06:54 AM
Ah fair enough.
Out of date brain is out of date!
But Police can still proactively check for the first time, as the database can chuck up stuff to be checked in on.
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 07:07 AM

Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 07:18 AM
Yes, and they are should all be connected to the various database.
Though the usage of anpr for such things is usually used as an opening gambit, like so often shown on police interceptors et al.
Mr Mystery
01-07-2014, 07:27 AM
And now for something completely different.
Seems the UK economy, despite ongoing fragility, continues to develop and recover. Which is nice.
Slightly skewed local observations on account of my local, include lots of 'boutique' type shops beginning to open their doors, filling the gap by the large chains that went under during the recession (such as Woolworths. Though given the scale of that company's debts, I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did).
We've got a rather snazzy, if slightly Hipster beer cafe just up the road from me, a new comic book art shop (which promises to start stocking comic books and other nerd essentials. Like Magic The Gathering). Definitely far fewer empty units (don't think there are any in the shopping centre).
All my friends now have some form of gainful employment, and my mate who was on reduced hours and reduced wage has now had his full hours reinstated, and that business (doing cabling and that for Satellite) is seeing an upsurge in orders as various companies start to upgrade/repair existing facilities long put off due to other financial constraints.
All in all, nice happy positive times are starting to creep back in!
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 07:35 AM

The issue is that while the economy does seem to be growing wages have stagnated but inflation has kept going up :(
Each time I go shopping I find more things have had a price hike..
Mr Mystery
01-07-2014, 07:43 AM
Wages thing is really nothing new.
Kicked off majorly with the boom in the 80's. Inflation was (deliberately, or I'm told) high. Wage inflation? Not so much.
Again I'm lucky as due to luck of circumstance and opportunity, I'm now considerably better off than I was at the start of the recession (more than doubled my wage).
Wolfshade
01-07-2014, 07:52 AM
Oh yes but it is still hihgly irksome to pay an extra 30% for the same product or pay more for less weight.
Especially given in most groceries the single largest cost is labour and we all know the labour costs have not changed vastly.
Mr Mystery
01-07-2014, 08:00 AM
Indeed.
As much as I am in favour of cutting benefits (they should never have become sufficient to represent an alternative to work) I'm very aware that for many claimants, and through no fault of their own, they are genuinely better off outside of work.
For every raise (and more significant than we're seeing) in the minimum wage, benefits should be trimmed accordingly. Eventually, you'll reach the sweet spot a lot quicker coming from both ends, and it will have a lot less impact on the most vulnerable.

Not that hard to understand, dude. First the previous codex came out, and it was pretty crappy and pissed a lot of players off. Then, they kept FAQ'ing nerf after nerf into the codex, even when there were no rules conflicts to FAQ (WTF couldn't a Prime join Warriors in a pod). Then 6th edition came around and mostly hurt them, with the only bright star being Biomancy.
And now the new codex is coming out, and virtually everything, with very few exceptions, is a nerf? After years of being treated like crap, of waiting for a new codex that would fix the fundamental problems with the army, the new codex... doesn't. It shuffles around stuff a bit, and it does have some new toys and a few buffs here and there, so nids might get a little better overall, but you don't seriously expect people to be happy about that, do you?

Comes to us all, and she hadn't been at all well in the years I've known her.
Worried about her son, who is my mate. Both parents no longer with us, and lived at home as his Mum's carer.
Guess that's a lot of change coming his way.

Cheers man.
And in other news, first stage of GUM check done.
Urine and blood samples given/taken, and Hep A with Hep B vaccination received. Booked same appointment for next week.
Blech. From now on, sticking to relationships. Random pick ups aren't worth the risk I fell foul of.

Just doing what I do and taking it in my stride.
None of it anything that worrying or stressing would help.
But thanks for all the support :) rather have it and not need it!
Though it seems I was a wee bit too proactive in getting tested. Stuff doesn't show clearly for 14 days, and it's only been 8. So another round of tests next week to be sure.

If you're set to special needs settings.
Us normal folk have only 75 pages to go.
And yes, I do wish I had been able to say only 69 pages to go. But it was not to be.
Least not yet.
