I'm still left wondering if SW:BF was meant as a sort-of paid for test bed.

I totally agree the Starfighters (main reason I bought the game, also being starved of X-Wing action) was truly woeful, and poorly executed (STARS. THE CLUE IS IN THE NAME).....but given that disappointment can be spun into 'but now we've done it right, arfle arfle BUY OUR STUFFS, which I totes wouldn't put past EA....

I've pre-ordered the headset. If it turns out to be a gimmick, it turns out to be a gimmick. Won't know until I've tried, and I can still sell it on if I winds up largely 'meh'

    Summaries of the FO4 DLC:

"Machines that sort! Machines that build! Machines that combine! With Fallout 4 Contraptions, use conveyer belts, scaffolding kits, track kits, even logic gates to construct crazy and complex gadgets to improve your Wasteland settlements. The Contraptions Workshop also includes all-new features like elevators, greenhouse kits, warehouse kits, fireworks, armor racks and more!"

    -

"Build a brighter future underground with the all-new Vault-Tec Workshop. Create a massive Vault and attract new Dwellers using pre-war industrial kits complete with retro-nostalgic furniture, lighting, and art. Even change and customize the look of your inhabitants with new barbershops and cosmetic surgery stations. And like every good Overseer, run Vault-Tec approved experiments on your Dwellers to learn what makes an ideal citizen. Vault-Tec has given you the tools, the rest is up to you!"

    -

"Take a trip to Nuka-World, a vast amusement park now a lawless city of Raiders. Explore an all-new region with an open wasteland and park zones like Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, Kiddie Kingdom and the Galactic Zone. Nuka-World features new quests, Raiders, weapons, creatures and more. Enjoy the ride!"

But if the sims has taught us anything its the people are complete and utter *******s to computer people in their charge. What will people do to vault dwellers when given the actual tools to be an utter *******?

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

If nothing else, it'll provide good YouTube and Twitch fodder.

I don't think I'll run too many experiments on people, but building a Vault could still be fun.

I have to say, though, the first two DLC sound like they're taking some folks' mods and turning them into official DLC that's fleshed out and works 100% (because it's being made by Bethesda, not some gamer sitting at home trying to figure out how to make sure something works right). Not that I terribly mind, but it does just seem a bit odd.

I do want the craftable armour racks that work. What's the point of Fancy armour sets if you can't display them? Plus then I can go hunting for parts to display just for the lolz.
The lift will be intersting for multi story buildings.

Yeah, it'll be nice to have this stuff actually work pretty seamlessly in the game. Then I can have my really nice looking shops for armor, weapons, stuff like that.

Just saw a wonderful illustration of this point. Someone asked on the Sims reddit about quickest Sim death, and gave his own story. To make it short: He opted to create a homeless old bum and set up a lot to mimic an abandoned playground; Sims come over to welcome him to the neighborhood; he opts to have the old bum hit on the attractive young blonde and keeps building "Romance" until he gets the option to "Try For Baby in Bush" (the same bush he was using as a toilet), then opted to "Try for Baby in Tent," and apparently that was too much for the old man and he croaked, leaving an impregnated young woman covered in filth.

I can't help thinking as I read the story, "Buddy, this kind of stuff, even in a video game, is what gets you on 'special lists.'"
