Private communication between players?

In deathwatch, how does private communications between players work? Are you allowed to talk between players without the gm overhearing. Writing notes and things like that?

It's up to the GM really.

totally... as GM, I'd lean more towards a no though, at least until the players can give me a legitimate reason why they want to do it and why it would make the game better.
