Well I do hope to add to the discussion and keep it interesting. The family tree is VERY interesting and I have yet to scratch the surface since its even more amazing on my mom's side. And as for the 3rd degree? All good. I welcome the banter. Here's something to chew on. My grandfather was the first person to ever land a plane in a live volcano. Documented!

Dorbandt flew the party on their survey of the Aleutian Islands and made the first landing in the giant crater of the Alaska volcano, Aniakchak. This was the first time such a feat had been accomplished. On the floor of the crater was a "hot spot" about a mile and a half in diameter.
Many photographs were taken by Dorbandt on his flights over the Alaskan Peninsula. He was renowned the world over for his remarkable flights over the volcanic regions. Moving pictures were taken by Father Hubbard on the flight and have been shown in theaters throughout the United States.
