looking at hard drives to replace the PS4 one. I really don't think 500gb will last long, and a 1TB hard drive is only £50.

So I am considering my next-gen console purchase and the best choice (no joke) seems to be the Wii U.

Well the WiiU has the best roster of games at the moment.
However, you need to be very aware it probably won't be that valuable of a long term purchase. Third parties weren't too keen on it to begin with, and its' terrible sales combined with the ridiculous sales of the PS4/X1 will probably lead to it being mostly abandoned aside from "money-grab" ports.
I'm sure there will be some great third party games on it to come, just remember that the main reason you are buying it is for the first party games.
