Broadsides - 85 pts with S8 Ap1 Skyfire; not sure if this is in place of old S10 AP1 or if the 85 points + skyfire is an option but its there.


Here is a response from a very reliable rumor checker that sometimes comes in to help us take a closer look at rumors.

They're not 85 points base, that's including their Skyfire upgrade.

They are indeed STR 8 AP 1 however on the broadside suits, then pay to add skyfire, but not interceptor.

or Rail Rifle S6 Ap3, Rail Gun S8 Ap1 Skyfire (with option for interceptor) and Rail Cannon S10 Ap1.

Unless Heavy has some big shake ups I see 2 Hammerheads and 1 squad of 2 broadsides being common amongst Tau players.

85 points is still very expensive for a broadside even with skyfire. Thats 15 points more than they are now, with a worse gun (but skyfire). They better be BS4 and relentless for that increase in cost

Apologies but I have a deep, unhealthy hatred of the tau. I'm openly a 40k racist when it comes to the tau.

When they first arrived, I couldn't believe that another army got flying tanks and jump shoot jump infantry. I was ... pissed.

So I had some dioramas commissioned that displays just how much I hate Tau. (Yes thats the Avatar in the background who launched a gun drone like a frisbee and gave a poor firewarrior a proctology exam.) MAN I NEED TO DUST THESE GUYS OFF.

Crisis Suits in a three-model plastic kit??
Redone plastic Pathfinders?
The flyers are called the "Sun Shark Bomber" and "Razorshark Fighter".

Is it just me, or can I see Broadside variants in the mass model pic? One looks like it's a walking smart missile battery and I'm sure I can see a double barrelled railgun...

Man the new stuff looks great, and the names are pretty cool too - "Riptide" was most definitely spot on!
Interesting to note in the battle picture that you can make out "The Tau are expanding again". New fluff?
Also, note that there are at least three Finecast kits that can barely be made out - my tips are O'Shovah, Aun'shi and a new commander (the rumoured Fire Warrior commander?).

I just read that. I wonder if there will be a fourth wave of expansion.

Looking forward to reading another of your excellent codex analyses, Learn2Eel. It should be interesting to see what you think of the new models, rules-wise.
