    Default Manners

So, at my local gaming store, there is a player who takes FOREVER to pull together a list, take his turns, and do basically anything in or to do with a game. We have taken to pairing up as quickly as possible because we can't play a full 1000 point game in 3 hours. What do you folks think is the proper/appropriate way to nudge him into going faster?

Ask him to please hurry up, you don't have an unlimited amount of time. Then thank him before he can respond.
When you do something right people wont be sure that you've done anything at all.

    Victory!

Alternatively, ensure everyone has their list & minis before pairing up and then bring about "turn timers", this may not be fair on the horde runners, after all 1000pts is a lot of boyz!

Personally, I'd just punch them in the ovaries.

You need some kind of low powered cattleprod

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

Go to your local health food shop, look for a product called Nitric Oxide. Jack3d is a popular brand. Slip half a measure in some juice, offer juice then sit back and watch the fireworks.
Best be sure he doesnt have a heart condition 1st though

Seriously though a gentle word like "hurry the **** up please" should
    suffice.

I'm thinking tell him to bring a list with him at various point levels to start followed by a vulcan death grip to the max. If he's writing a list after you all decide to play he is in effect cheating w/ the ability to taylor his list to what army you have brought.

Don't play games against him and when he does ask why no one wants to play against him tell him the truth.

I ran into this kind of player nearly 20 years ago. He would take like 10 minutes to decide just what target he should shot at with his tanks. He would bend down and look one way and then get up and then bend down and look the other way. Doing this over and over again.

    Played against him only once.
