Nids turn up at the tail end of Mission 3, and mission 4 is entirely dominated by them. Haven't been able to play past 4 yet - 4 has been tough enough for me that I feel like I need a friend there to help, or at least relieve the frustration when I'm forced to go back to the last checkpoint for the nth time.
