I know all this, I'm not a complete retard. But I still maintain that Brussels aren't a GM product derived from cabbages. You need to prove this young man

They're a selectively breed variety from the common point of Brassica oleracea

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

Ok, it is GM but no in the way that tomatos have been spliced with fish dna. A better word would be cultivar. They are all cultivars of the species Brassica oleracea. There are 7 main types of cultivar:
Acephala Group – kale and collard greens
    Alboglabra Group – Chinese broccoli
Botrytis Group – cauliflower, Romanesco broccoli and broccoflower
    Capitata Group – cabbage
    Gemmifera Group – brussels sprouts
    Gongylodes Group – kohlrabi
    Italica Group – broccoli

So they are all the same plant species, just different ones are breed selectively to have specific characteristics,

What bugs me is how some things are a vegetable in a culinary sense due to being savoury, but are actually fruit in a biology sense (like tomatoes). Can make it really confusing because then you have strawberries which aren't berries, peanuts aren't nuts and kidneys aren't fruit..? I mean what's up with that?!

Knowledge is knowing that a cucumber is fruit; Wisdom is not including it in a fruit salad - Me.

I avoid the whole issue by trying to eat a diet of potato and red meat.

    I like cucumber. It's a lovely fruit.

Also....see that Pineapple? That's a berry that is. And that Banana? That's actually a herb that is (apparently)

Cucumber sancwiches are delicious and you can pickle cucumbers into pickles which are even more delicious.
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!
