Default Tau Fire Warrios Hunt Down Renegade Kroot Mercs

My son and I played a game of Kill Team today. It was a blast. A small detachment of Firewarriors was sent to the arboreal world of X'veth 756 to hunt down a renegade bad of mercenaries that has been reportedly working with Imperial forces in the area. The Firewarriors deployed to the southwest of the Mercenaries staging area....

The Kroot were in their natural environment so the Firewarriors proceeded with cation...

The Stealth Suits were perhaps the greatest threat to the Kroot so the Mercs took up defensive positions in the forest

The Mercs sent Vespid Stingwings to the Tau's left flank...

The Neutron Blasters of the Vespids proved to be quite devestating... the Firewarriors formed a firing line...

In short order the Vespids were in amongst the Firewarriors, laying waste...

    (continued)...

The game was on the wire. The Mercs dropped the Tau below 50%... one failed Leadership save and the game was over for the Tau. My firewarriors passed with a roll of 7! I had my remaining Firewarriors target the Strain Leader of the Vespids... killing that model would drop the Mercs below 50% AND remove their highest leadership model... the Strain Leader died... now both armies were below 50%! The first player to fail a Leadership test would lose the game!

The Mercs engaged the remaining Tau killing all but one model. On my turn I passed the leadership test with a roll of 6... my remaining model also survived all attacks against it! It was the Mercs' turn... he failed his Leadership test! The Mercs broke and ran for the hills... Tau victory!

Note: this last shot was arranged after my son failed his final save... it shows the Merc forces running from the sole surviving Fire Warrior!

Great game! We had a lot of fun with Kill Team!

    Nice!

I particularly like the batrep with in-the-action shots. Helps add to the report.

nice game! Its very cool that you and you son both play. Funny, funny game, looks like it was a good time. I like those you just can't tell until the dust settles games.

Thanks for posting the report and the pics~ They really help to clarify the reports and we get a change to scope out the models!

Go Tau! For the greater good!

Great Batrep enhanced by photographs and painted miniatures (not a fan of video batreps). Must try to get more games of Kill Team in, I've forgot how much fun they can be.

    Woot for Kroot and Vespid!

Nice to see some of the lesser-employed elements of Codex: Tau come out and play.
