So, Krakens are cool, and you get fifty of them in a 1500 point list.
50 Krakens with Feeder Tendrils (30 points each, five squadrons of 10)
So, who would play with or against that? What do you think?

Thunder Hawks, Assualt craft and Boarding torpedos would masacre them despite their numbers all you opponent would have to do is stay away from you for as long as possible!
It would well fun to play, properly cinematic!

Wellll....
It would be 'nice for a one-time battle'. Non fluffy and all.
Keeping 50 Krakens at bay is kinda hard...
In giving it more thought, I think that paying an extra ten points a guy for pyro-acid batteries instead of feeder tendrils is probably a better call.
Out of curiosity, why do you feel it's unfluffy? There's an entire fleet list designed to allow you to do exactly that sort of thing.
That said, I had forgotten about the instinctive behavior rules. That makes the fleet a little worse.
They designed Kraken/Vanguard only fleets to be about 750pts. That's the reason for fluffness.
If you keep the squadrons large enough the Ld will be good enough to overcome I.B..
Fair and true.
I think it would be a fun fleet to play. I like the idea of escort fleets, and this one's up on the list of good ones. Space Marines, I think, put out a pretty solid escort list as well. Necrons would put out a great one, but they have that bizarre cap on the number of escorts they can bring. Eldar, of course, have a great escort fleet, but the variable movement rates really bug me.
I tried versing a kraken fleet before, too powerful. They all have 6+ armor, move fast and then eat up cruisers
