    Default Yet Another BA list. 2000 points, casual.

    Reclusiarch
    Total: 130

    Chills with Death Company.

    9 Death Company: 2 Power Weapons, Power Fist
    Total: 235

    They hang out inside the Storm Raven. I'll try and send them to where they're needed the most.

    Furioso Librarian: Blood Lance, Might of Heroes
    Total: 165

    Also inside the Storm Raven. Same deal as Death Company.

    Sanguinary Priest with Jump Pack: Lightning Claw
    Total: 90

    Sanguinary Priest with Jump Pack: Lightning Claw
    Total: 90

    These go in the Jump Pack squads. I gave them Lightning Claws because they are (barely) more effective than Power Weapons. At least against Marines.

    10 Assault Marines: 2 Meltaguns
    Sergeant: Power Fist
    Total: 235

    10 Assault Marines: 2 Meltaguns
    Sergeant: Power Fist
    Total: 235

    5 Assault Marines: Meltagun
    Sergeant: Lightning Claw
    Razorback: Heavy Flamer
    Total: 145

    I tried not to use too much Mech, because I've always wanted to do an army with lots of jump troops.

    Baal Predator: Heavy Bolters, Storm Bolter, Dozer Blades
    Total: 160

    This will most likely outflank, and try and rip up artillery and the like.

    Vindicator: Dozer Blades
    Total: 150

    Vindicator: Dozer Blades
    Total: 150

    Will stay in reserve, then rocket forward to and blast things to bits. They may start out on the board if the situation looks good.

    Storm Raven: Twin-linked Mult-melta, Twin-linked Assault Cannon, Extra Armour
    Total: 215

    Will stay in reserve, then drop off the kids. I guess it will go tank-hunting/objective contesting if it survives.

    Total: 2000

    I've considered replacing the Death Company with some other type of hard-hitting unit, and if I did, I would probably get rid of the Chaplain for a Librarian or something like that.

    Any comments, advice or criticism is welcome.

    I think putting Lightning claws on the Priests is a waste as they can be picked out in combat easily and just as easily killed. Just give them a power weapon for just in case, but personally, I'd want to keep them out of combat (but near by!).

    Oh, what I mean to say is that they each have a single lightning claw (which is the same price as a power weapon).

    I don't know the math, but is the reroll to wound better than the extra attack?

    Against WS 4 T4:
    Sergeant: Charge
    L Claw: 3 attacks (1.5 hits) -> 1.125 wounds (No saves) = 1.13 wounds
    P Weapon: 4 attacks (2 hits) ->1 wound (No saves) = 1 wound

    Sergeant: No Charge
    L Claw: 2 attacks (1 hit) -> 0.75 wounds (No saves) = 0.75 wounds
    P Weapon: 3 attacks (1.5 hits) -> 0.75 wounds (No saves) = 0.75 wounds

    Sanguinary Priest: Charge
    L Claw: 3 attacks (2 hits) -> 1.78 wounds (No saves) = 1.78 wounds
    P Weapon: 4 attacks (2.66 hits) -> 1.77 wounds (No saves) = 1.77 wounds

    Sanguinary Priest: No Charge
    L Claw: 2 attacks (1.33 hits) -> 1.0 wounds (No saves) = 1 wound
    P Weapon: 3 attacls (2 hits) -> 1.0 wounds (No saves) - 1 wound

    Against WS4 T5:
    Sergeant: Charge
    L Claw: 3 attacks (1.5 hits) -> 0.83 wounds (No saves) = 0.83 wounds
    P Weapon: 4 attacks (2 hits) ->0.67 wounds (No saves) = 0.67 wound

    Sergeant: No Charge
    L Claw: 2 attacks (1 hit) -> 0.55 wounds (No saves) = 0.55 wounds
    P Weapon: 3 attacks (1.5 hits) -> 0.5 wounds (No saves) = 0.5 wounds

    Sanguinary Priest: Charge
    L Claw: 3 attacks (2 hits) -> 1.5 wounds (No saves) = 1.5 wounds
    P Weapon: 4 attacks (2.66 hits) -> 0.88 wounds (No saves) = 0.88 wounds

    Sanguinary Priest: No Charge
    L Claw: 2 attacks (1.33 hits) -> 1.0 wounds (No saves) = 1 wound
    P Weapon: 3 attacks (2 hits) -> 0.67 wounds (No saves) - 0.67 wounds

    Ugh... I'm really burned out... so, my math might be a little off. I doublechecked it and couldn't find anything huge, though.

    I mostly just did it because lightning claws look awesome. As you can see, the difference is barely visible at T4, but becomes more pronounced against T5.

    I like this list.

    The only thing I would change is the Assault Cannon to a Lascannon on your stormraven.

    If you are going anti-tank route, might as well take the range route too--- go in, drop your guys off, back off, blasting away-- last turn zip over to an enemy claimed objective.

    EDIT: I would change one other thing---

    Death co. really excel at flying (my personal opinion)-- dropping 4 guys buys jump packs for the squad, dropping the two lightning claws on the priest, buys a jump pack for the reclesiach.

    The 10 points left over can get you Siege Shields (upgrading both dozer blades) on your Vindicators-- which is worth while--- The gun has such narrow fire angle, a immobilized result makes your 150 point tank worthless.
