firing witchfire powers do not count, as shooting unless for resolving this, as the rulebook states you can fire several witchfires in your psy phase, even at different targets then behave as normal in shooting.

I don't use psykers but it's good to know what my opponents are capable of.

Anything psykic always, and only ever, happens in the Psykic Phase. Anything else, such as popping smoke, happens in the Shooting Phase.
