Thread: Fallout 4

Well, that's Bethesda for you. Still, a major developer being so open to players tweaking the toys is always refreshing. And to be fair, Fallout 4 sounds relatively polished.

A question to everyone; what's decorating like? Is there some simple way to pick up and place a vase or human skull on, say, a stool, or is the player character still as painfully ham-handed as in the previous full-3d Elder Scrolls/Fallouts?

Dang. Was hoping the "hanging pictures" option was a sign of having some sort of snap-to-grid for decorating. I never really feel like the hero of the land when I accidentally pick up a bowl and send a dozen apples bouncing all over my house, with no hope of being replaced.

the paintings snap to, they just don't necessarily snap to where you are looking, or anywhere you would actually want to hang a picture...

select the painting, look at the will, it sticks right to it, simple. what do you mean you don't want to hang it six inches above the skirting board? of course you do. nah, you don't want to put it on that big stretch of empty wall, you want to put it on the wall to your right, and six inches behind you. haha just kidding, here, let me stick it to your face so you can't see where you are going.

I've been trying to dress settlers accordingly so I know what they're supposed to be doing. not been consistent enough though cause it depends what you find.

I think the one you assign to supply routes changes to "provisioner" or something similar.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

That's a good idea, time to kill some people who look like farmers and so forth then steal their clothes to make my settlers look like farmers and so forth.
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!

Despite the Bethesda-iness of the system, the fact that you can put the pictures pretty much anywhere on the wall rather than being restricted to "picture slots" sounds fairly useful.

Modding in large sheets of wood/aluminum the game treats as cat pictures would let the player patch their buildings by hand...

Suppose that wouldn't help with the roof, though.

Also just seen claims that large scale water farming makes you a target of vertibird raids.
