Yeah the door thing is annoying me, I hope they patch it. Also the lack of ability to properly patch sloped roofs.

Maybe a lockable door as well so you have the key and they can't get in your house then.

However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!

it is the one problem I have with a lot of post apocalyptic styles. given that I can fashion wood, steel, concrete, glass etc. it is a bit silly building scrap shacks with holes in. there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to patch all the roads, repair all the houses etc. even if you were going for a more basic skill level in labourers, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to build timber houses in a wild west style.

Yeah I've got about thirty hours under my belt now, and the bloke from the first group of settlers is still hammering the same panel on the same hole filled house.

it would be nice if you didn't have to tell them to do absolutely everything. one settler complained to me about a lack of food whilst literally standing next to a melon patch. there was swearing involved.

...adding a lockable doors option and slightly more resource-heavy patched housing sounds like a pretty tempting/achievable mod to make. Might have a play at it myself once the mod kit's out.

it is frustrating that you can't fit a door in every doorway too, or patch holes in windows etc. there is hardly a waterproof house anywhere in the game. you would think copper would be plentiful too in the post apocalypse, you ought to be able to go round ripping it out of walls and overhead lines.
You can assign them to beds in the same way you can assign them to work resources. Funnily enough since I've been leaving Piper, who I romanced, at Sanctuary she sleeps in the double bed I put in my tower room lol, even though there are other more easily accessible non assigned beds.

Unassigned workers scavenge for junk, and if you set up a supply line you can grow a heap of food in one location and not worry about wasting space and labour somewhere else growing it.

My new power armour bunker now with added power armour:

Made a little market hall where my old PA bunker used to be:

I hadn't thought of using water purifiers to make purified water to sell, I've been swigging the stuff lol.

Don't get your hopes up, still not 100% on if my comp can handle Fallout 4 - does Skyrim at Medium-High, but that's with a decent chunk of fiddling/optimization. Still, can always buy, test, and refund if it absolutely tanks.

Glad to hear there are tools to better manage the minions, even if they're not necessarily well-explained.

It's not super intuitive, I'd really like a menu to show who is assigned to what, I think I accidentally shut down a couple of supply lines by assigning the workers running them to do other things. I'm sure there will be some excellent settlement quality of life mods given time, its a great system just a bit clunky in parts.

I am loving the game, but some of the fiddly stuff is dodgy. I haven't had any bugs yet on Xbox One, at least not obvious troublesome ones, but the instructions are useless. for ages I got a message in Sanctuary saying 'build something that needs power' when I had several already, then 'build something that generates power' at a point where I had three already, then just a vague 'connect them together'
