Default [Updated] Official Bloodthirster too Dinky? NO PROBLEM! C&C Wanted

Edit: added paint, pictures below and at end of thread. Hoping for some C&C:

Still not sure if I'm uploading pictures right, to get them to display large-format in a post (let me know how, I'm an idiot on forums) but -- here it goes! Kitbash to make a proper Khorne Greater Daemon. I was so proud of the idea because I thought of it on my own, but then I saw some other people did it too, so that made me feel a little less triumphant. Either way, I'm VERY pleased with the result.

Gallery <---- painted version, hopefully a larger picture. Doing all this from a phone is tedious.

Materials of importance
1. Fantasy Ghorgon body, arms, legs, head.
2. Balrog (LotR) wings.
3. Lasher Tendril(s) whip.
4. Knight Titan chainsword (converted to halberd).
5. Lots of blood and skulls.
6. Greenstuff.

Despite how much I like it, I'm nervous about getting the color choices right (yes, even on a bloodthirster). Any criticism? I really need input to progress any further.

Thanks!

Good use of the knight chainsword. I'd recommend building up the musculature around the second set of shoulders for the wings, which is the main problem of using the slightly gangly ghorgon as the base. I'd also think of adding some armour around the thigh to knee and bicep to elbow area as the proportions on the ghorgon are a little weird. Spare forgefiend armour works well if you can find some.

For painting the skin I'd say darker is better, dried blood rather than fresh blood.

Very nice - I'm surprised the Greater Daemons haven't gotten giant kits yet, but this conversion fills that void perfectly.

i was thinking of converting a gorgon to a keeper of secrets (having the bulls head and all)

Yeah, I'd seen the Keeper of Secrets conversion before. Bloodthirster hadn't occurred to me because they don't traditionally have bull heads. Still, it works pretty well and it's clear what it is. I just hope, for your sake, that GW don't release new greater daemons before you even finish painting that one (even though you'll still have a unique conversion).

That thought occurred to me as I was building it, so I'm hoping to make a unique build / paintjob so that even if they release new Greater Daemons I'll have something I'm proud of. In hindsight, I should've known their 20+ year old models would get a revamp soon.. And likely on a huge scale!

I like it! Really cool model. I hear you on the "beat you to it" conversion front, I had that happen to me too with an Imperial Knight conversion lol.

Dang, I don't know what it is, but I don't want to see one in real life, ever.
