2000 pt. Straken IG List

Seeing the complete whomping Straken can dish out in the new Nid v. Guard Batrep, I thought I'd take a stab at crafting a list using one of my favorite old-time army models: the forlorn Soviet charge.

The gist: Guardsmen run across the field, screaming, blasting as they go, while artillery rains down on the enemy, forcing them to keep their heads down until the Guardsmen hack them to pieces in CC.

This isn't meant to be super-competitive, I just want to make people crap their pants at the sight of 90+ Guardsmen screaming across the table at them while shells burst around their positions. The Master of the Fleet is there to keep Outflankers, Deep Strikers, and other nonsense at bay for a while.

Thoughts?

1. You have almost zero anti-tank.

2. I might suggest 30-man blobs, rather than just 20.

3. Straken rules have been changed with the latest release of the SW FAQ.

4. Love the Griffons, but I might sub out one squad for a Manticore to bust tanks open.
