Rumours about the Timescale:

There are rumours of Empire in 2012 (I had them in June but also in Mar/April with a BIG "?")
The next most complete project was empire. The book was done, all of the box art for new minis was done so it's imminent.(Darnock via birdy)
There are rumours that some bits will arrive before the army book (as with VC) (Harry, Mirabeau, malladin.ben)
The rumour is the War altar kit arrives with a couple of characters before the rest. (Harry. malladin.ben)

Rumours about the Games developers:

There is a rumour that Jervis and Jeremy Vetock are up to their bushy eyebrows and wire rimmed spectacles in this one. (Harry)

Rumours about the army:

Ulric is back on the menu.
Teutogen Guard are in. (ghost21)
Religion / the gods are more prominent. (Harry, ghost21, Mirbeau)
Theres also a sphere of influence so Sigmarites will not be affected by Priests of Ulric and Ulricans wont be affected by sigmaric priests...etc. Different gods priests have different abilities. Ulric are ‘frothing loonies’ and Morr focus on undead. Priests can impact on a units abilities when they join them. (ghost21).
There is a new focus on Morr. Priests of Morr, Knights of Morr, Garden of Morr, etc.

Rumours about models:

Empire will get 4 plastic kits (Darnock via birdy) 5 plastic kits (Harry) and some plastic one piece characters as well as some old models being redone in finecast.

Rumours of Characters/Lords/Heroes

There are rumours that more named Elector counts will be availaible.
Marius Leitdorf will be re-released in Finecast.
Boris Todbringer has been 'hinted' (Mirbeau)
Female sorceress/battle Wizard has been done. (Eldargal) (I assume a one piece plastic)
There is also a rumour about a priestess of Myrmidia (ghost21)
I heard something about a mounted Wizard.
I heard something about an engineer (possibly also mounted?)

Rumours of Karl Franz OR Lord/Hero on Griffon.

There are rumours of a plastic Lord/Hero on a Griffon that could 'pass' as Karl Franz. (Harry)
There is a rumour that it IS Karl Franz. (which is an interesting development as this is the first time we have seen a special, named character as a plastic kit).
“The new plastic Empire hero on griffon is also supposed to be very nice” (hastings)
Griffin, which to be honest is a bit of a let down. It's big, Manticore sized, and looks almost like an update of the Deathclaw mini only a bit more static, oddly it was painted a deep ruddy brown. (Darnock via birdy)

Rumours of a plastic War Altar (and something new?)

There are rumours of a dual plastic kit which makes a War Altar and something else. (Harry, hastings, ghost21, malladin.ben)
It is rumoured that the War Altar can be customised to make Sigmar, Ulric or Morr. (ghost21)
There is a rumour that it makes a War Altar and a “College of Magic wizardlordmobile”. (NatTreehouse, Harry)
A war altar combo kit with a wizardy casting platform thing which had lots of globes almost like a celestial model. (Darnock via birdy)

Rumours of new Warrior priests:

There are rumors of new warrior priests for Sigmar, Ulric, and Morr. (ghost21, malladin.ben)
There is a rumours of Warrior priest kit like the wizards kit.
These may be sculpts done for the plastic War Altar. (Rather than an additional kit or individual sculpts)
The Ulricians may just be finecast versions of the excellent ones from the storm of Chaos. (ghost21)
There is also a rumour about a priestess of Myrmidia (ghost21)

Rumours of Demi-Griffon knights.

There are rumours of Demi-Griffon knights. (Eldargal and others )

Rumours of Inner Circle knights:

There is a rumour of a new box of inner circle knights with lots of options for different orders.(ghost21)
This is the reason for no new knights. (ghost21)

There is a rumour that the Inner Circle Knights and Demi-griffon knights are the same dual kit.

Rumours of new Knights:

No new knights. (hastings)
Rumour of the sprue re-cut for the knights. (ghost21)
Rumour of individual Knightly Orders rather than redone generic set. (eldargal)
Rumour of new Knights of Morr. (Mirbeau and others )
Rumour of more packs like the blazing sun bits pack to customize the existing knights. (ghost21)

Rumours of a Nuln Siege Cannon:

Rumours of a BIG cannon. (Darnock via a birdy, ghost21)
Massive cannon used to defend the walls of Nuln. (Darnock via birdy)
The cannon is big … as big as the ogres …. Mock up had “Nuln” plastered on the front. (ghost21)
This was rumoured as part of the duel war alter kit. (Darnock via a birdy)

Wow, plenty of empire rumours there, thanks Eldargal. I personally can't wait, especially for the return of the war wagon and some shiny new preists. I can't see ogres being in there, given they now have their own book, and if Kiselvites are coming in the rumoured 'allies' supplement I can't see them being in with the Empire book. And I don't think they should be, they are their own nation and deserve a seperate treatment. Yay for the halflings returning though, my hot pot is still counting as a mortar so it would be great to see it get some new rules.

I'm curious about the rumour of a new book, I thought they were coming as WD expansion. They could be doing what they have done with VC's and a small update for a few new units, with an army book a few months later. But I don't quite understand the logic of that. It could be to generate sales, but then a new army book will do that perfectly well, and 2nd/3rd waves spread out that income. It could also be to see how good sales are and then decide if it is worth releasing the army book, but then they would already need most of the book and new units done for such a quick turnaround, so that seems pointless. Hey ho, heres hoping for some new WD units in the next few months with an army book to follow!

A couple of questions for those in the know - will the new priests also generate dispel dice/ do sigmarites keep that ability? My gaming group constantly moan about that and it is a hangover from the last ed that has become quite powerful (or at least undercosted). Also, are we going to get a deck of 'prayer' cards in the same way other races get magic cards?

Anywho I would love to see Knights of Morr, I would base an army on them, I love their back story.

Doesn't really matter. Either he was lying about the rumours, or is lying about making up rumours. Whichever it is, he is liar and thus anything he said is completely unreliable.

On a brighter note though, I would love to see more kinghtly order regiments, hopefully with their own special rules.

If the War Wagon is a reality then my "good" army will be Empire... otherwise I'll wait for Wood Elves or Brettonians to be revisited.

I wish GW would redo some of the basic troops for many of the armies coming out. I really don't like the state troops for Empire and I really detest the TK ordinary skeletons. If I wanted to do Empire right now I'd probably shell out the money to use the Forgeworld models since I find the heads, torsos and some legs to be pretty terrible.

I too like the idea of the religious sects for the Empire, I just hope they don't overdo it.

Possibly, but he isn't exactly the first rumourmonger on Warseer to ragequit after getting a few things wrong. Personally I think it is safer to err onthe side of caution and treat his rumours as invalid.

I'd almost forgotten about this thread. I can confirm the the empire griffon kit makes a generic lord/hero on griffon or KF as it has bits to do so. This will be a big deal as it's the first time a named special character has been made in a plastic kit.

Man, I can't wait to reitre my metal KF, that thing is an accident waiting to happen. Also, if we have a plastic KF that then makes mounting him on horse or dragon much easier. As much as I love Deathclaw, there are times when I'd rather have KF stuck in a unit of knights in the centre of the battleline. Do we have anything more on a possible release date? I'm guessing March will be 40K since they haven't had anything since Nov, so April maybe?

The second was Griffin, which to be honest is a bit of a let down. It's big, Manticore sized, and looks almost like an update of the Deathclaw mini only a bit more static, oddly it was painted a deep ruddy brown.

I like the sound of the wizards platform. Also says the book is done, so presumebly it will be released soon too.

Brilliant. Can't wait. I'm surprised they have done it now, given that everything is already plastic and the book is still pretty competitive, but I guess they sell well and they don't require much of an overhaul, just shiny new stuff. I suspect the war altar/wizard platform thingy will be much like to mortis/coven thingy. Here's hoping for war wagon too.
