I watch that and think 'Oh my, if only they would do a full on Spoof of a Tarantino film'.
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!
Oh my goodness. Can you just imagine Fozzie with Jules' jheri curl and Gonzo with Vincent's pony tail. That would be epic hilarity.
BTW, I'm really excited for this movie. I'm not sure they could have gotten two better human actors to act with the muppets than Jason Segal and Amy Adams. Those two have just the right amount of joy in pretty much every part they play (except Amy in The Fighter, of course).
At first, I was all "The Muppets! My childhood!"
Then I saw "Disney."
I will withhold judgement for awhile, methinks.
@Eldargal: A Muppet Reservoir Dogs would be....eerie.
well, when Disney first got the rights to The Muppets, it was kinda lame.
But in the past few years, they've let Henson's younger son have creative control and he's the one that's brought us the youtube videos that have been coming out the past few years, like the skits they've put up on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/MuppetsStudio)
I'm thinking it'd probably turn out more like Daleks playing Quiddich. "It is the Potter!! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! " (someone I know on twitter)
Oh, I like Disney well enough. But when they just do Disney things.
I don't like it when they take/buy out someone else's creation and then try to "Disneyfy" it.
If the Henson lineage retains artistic and creative control--it'll be worth it.
I'd hate for Disney to do to The Muppets what WotC did to D&D.
