    Default 2000pt Wolves for local tourney

    Well it's about that time again, I've not taken my wolves out for a real competitive spin lately and now I got a tournament coming up in two weeks.

    I've been trying to get an armylist together and I'm bumping into some roadblocks.

    Certain aspects of my list are very tried and true, I'm very happy with my troops and my long fangs. I also can't fathom taking this army without a nice big land raider.

    However, the suicide dread and the vindicator are really just there because I couldn't think of much else to do. So I really do have almost 300pts to work with.

    I've considered upgrading my priest to njal, I've considered another pack of wolves in a drop pod. I'm just not sure.

    So, here's what I've got right now:

    I like it, very well balanced. Not that you should change it, but you could swap the vindicator for a second rune priest or wolf scouts and the dred for another long fang pack, or just swap the vind for heavy bolter long fangs

    Or swap the dred and vindicator for some thunder wolves

    Those were all options I was considering.

    I had an idea of swapping out the dread, the vindi and the Rune priest for Njal and some wolf scouts...

    Still trying to mull everything over.

    Njal really boosts the army as a whole so he fits really well. I intend to keep him in the land raider until I roll a good ability for the turn and then have him exit (as I understand the rules 'Lord of Tempests' doesn't work when Njal is embarked in a vehicle). The wolf scouts do the job of a suicide dread but I think they do it a bit better because they force my opponent to move forward and because they can tear up heavy weapons teams (with their power weapons) as well as tanks in the backfield (with their meltagun/bombs and the Wolf Guard's powerfist).

    Can you only give one of the Wolf Scouts a meltabomb though? I thought it was all or nothing unless you take a wolfguard leader with meltabombs.

    Lowdog is correct. I guess I'll chuck the meltabombs on the wolfguard.

    Tynskel. If you win with that list I INSIST that you give me all the details because that is awesome.

    I think it would be a fun list to make---- Each guy would be different!

    I don't think it will win anything.
