Yesterday?
I curled up in bed with the SO and played games all day...
No morris dancing?
I was working from 5am, and it was a nightmare shift... Then the drinking. :)
Love trolling 40k players.
4 Cannibal films, argument with ex and cessation of all contact and that, and an episode of Game of Thrones.
So yep, pretty good day all round!
I love cake,

Watched the first episode of Hannibal last night, gosh darn it, it is goood./
It was coming, and it was necessary.
Air cleared, and no need to ever go back, on account I don't believe in revisting your vomit. Much as I might love the species, I myself am not a dog.
But I thought it'd ended well?
I've managed to book a night in London, first class return rail for two adults, and a pair of gig tickets for......wait for it..... only £306, and they wonder why people hate things being in London.
Oh it did at first. Then it didn't. Hey ho. Unfortunately she mistook incompetence for malice.
I hate being in London too. Except when I'm at work. Because I can post on here and nobody seems to care, and I still get paid.
Ah, yeah that'd do it.
That does seem its one saving grace :D case of as long as everything is done whats it matter eh?
Yup!
And today, I have pretty much nothing to do. Too efficient, me!
Oooh! Just remember! Sunday night - WWE Extreme Rules Pay-per-view round my mates house.
It was ace! First ever PPV Wrestling I've seen. And now....FIRST OF MANY!
Irritate people and say that it is just ballet without the music.
I quite agree.
Some of the stuff they do is really quite incredible. You'd never think such large, bulky blokes could be so light on their feet.
I enjoy it, then you suddenly find yourself in that suspended disbelief
Daniel Bryan v Kane involved a Forklift Truck.
That was ace that!
It's all about the show!
The bit I dislike is the divas but I think that we have gone over that countless times already.
The match on Sunday night was pretty cool. Muscle Woman vs Athletic build. Really well choreographed.
Oh 40k section. Y u meltdown every time a rumour come out?
What's the rumour?
Because the sky is fallin' and it is just a last ditch attempt to grab my monies by GW
oh the usual
I think it is best to sit and wait and see what happens.
But then I play the long game...
There are times I feel sorry for GW, it is like the time they released an FAQ for a codex that was realsed on that same day. So on the one hand they get lamblasted for being slow to pick up faqs then on the other get slammed for a sloppy release. Now to be fair what was faqed should have been addressed in the codex originally, but we often see that this is not the case so a rapid response is good.
I'm always amazed at how many take stuff completely personally, as if GW have nothing better to do than to come up with a rule to annoy that same person on the intertubes, time and again. Even when it's something they'd been demanding, because they'll just change their mind.
I can agree with that, complaining when they try to fix things is pretty silly. but when the changes make no sense and we dont even get the designers notes anymore....thats what irks must people really, the complete lack of communication.
Take the digital editions for example. Eddie on the facebook page was the best thing that has happened at GW in years, for the simple reason that he would respond and interact with the fans....the result, Some higher up at GW twists their underwear in a knot and it all goes away (with none of the replacement that certain posters assumed was coming returning)
I think Eddie was a good thing too. I think that there is a bit of a disparity between upper management and the rest at GWHQ, actually I should phrase that stronger, it does exist, one pushes in one direction (usually in the "community" direction for want of a better phrase) the other in another (£).
The weekly release schedule was one of these upper management brain childs. But thankfully, it seems to have worked quite nicely, well the 40k side at least, I don't pay much/any attention to WFB.
The community like to feel like their voice is being listened to, and I think a lot of people treat GW as a couple of guys sat round with beer and crisps rather than a multi-national organisation. It would be good if they could ressurect an eddie type to respond to everyone but the amount of calls that they would get eddie would need to be a team of about 50 people...
mm the weekly schedule is pretty cool really, always something new to read in the morning news
When I first learned of the weekly release schedule I was opposed to it, I thought it was a silly idea.
My first thought was most people get paid monthly and still have a fixed hobby budget, so having four/five drops instead of the one wouldn't then cause people to spend 4x the amount each month. What it has done, is made it quite exciting to see what is happening and tied in with the weekly newsletter/wd thingy has made a more sustatined hobby excitement, which I something I didn't account for. When it was just weekly dataslates I was like o-oh but then we had some big ones.

As to eddie, I hardly think that they require a team that large, the facebook page for the digital editions was a side project (the removal of it did not lead to the removal of digital editions) and that managed fine.
The stores manage fine as well
What I mean is a team or being able to respond to every customer query in a timely fashion.
From the "My Vyper shipped without flying base" to the "How on earth can AM have a Ld of only 8!"
but of course, GW are pure evil and all they do all day is have big meetings about what will annoy everybody the most. surely you are aware of this? EA do the same, nothing but pure corporate malevolence whose every action is geared toward destroying what they create...
they already have to do one (because contrary to what people think consumers have rights)
and the other could be served by at least releasing the designers notes for the release of the week to give people an incite into what was going through the authors heads. then you have a small group like "eddie" that deal with the community is small, subtle but ultimately positive ways.
ultimately we wont really change anything, it is what it is, but the understanding of why is important to understand the behaviour of both the community and GW towards each other
Perhaps we just hold GW in a different position to other companies.
In itunes I can buy a track for 99c or 99p, which owing to currency fluctuations means that I can sometimes be paying a third more for the same digital track that costs no more or less to deliver to me, yet we don't see a big rally against apple. Nor in the way they have a completely closed market, and overly expensive pcs.
Or how I can buy a dvd in americas and it won't work in my european player, or how I can buy dog food that is branded for working dogs and avoid paying tax on it despite it being almost identical to their "non-working dog" receipe!
its the investment, both emotionally and financially. many of the community are far more invested in GW than they are in products like computers, phones DVDs etc....
because you need to unlock your dvd player Wolfie, or set it to region 0 :D
I know, hence we consider GW to be "our" little thing rather than a large corporate monolith.
In the same way Metallica when they "sold out" and did MTV and wore makeup...
yay!
My FW goodies have finally arrived!
Is that the books and that?
Aye, should be. Not expecting owt else i don't think and just got your parcels arrived text bit longer than I expected tbh, thought it would have come the day they went live on the site.
