No neither do I. I mean being my wife she is entitled to half of everything if we were to split regardless of whether or not she is named. She is entitle to half my warhammer, I must get twice as much so that I won't lose half of it!

No neither do I. I mean being my wife she is entitled to half of everything if we were to split regardless of whether or not she is named. She is entitle to half my warhammer, I must get twice as much so that I won't lose half of it!
Exactly.
In other news:
1. Wiral CC lost by 105 runs, their opposition Haslington only scored 108.
2. Canadian women sues the family of a cyclist she killed because "her enjoyment of life... has been lessened"
3. Ecclestone avoided £1.2bn tax bill agreeing to pay HMRC just £10m.
4. Dad's army film is in the works, I pray it isn't "Directed by Michael Bay"
There's already a dad's army film isn't there?
Plus aren't half the cast dead now?
Why? WHY?
Just leave Dad's Army as is. It's a classic. No need for an 'update'. It won't work. The actors in Dad's Army, for the most part lived through the era.
No need! Leave it be!
There is [imdb linnk]
But a new one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27178025
I hope that it is sympathetic
of course. A remake is totally unnecessary.
We are living in the world of "post-content" where there is no longer original content and everything is just re-makes of previous things.
You're just reinterpreting that "post-archbishop".
But isn't that the basis for sites like tumblr and buzzfeed?
Oh yes.
I mean I accept that there are only 7 plot lines:
- Overcoming the Monster
- Rags to Riches
- The Quest
- Voyage and Return
- Comedy
- Tragedy
- Rebirth
But how many Spider Man origin stories do we need?
read more books, they get more varied there.
I feel confident that they could fit into one of those 7 categories. Though I would be very interested in finding ones that don't.
depends on how loose your definitions are
Some movies:
Tinker tailor soldier spy
good night and good luck
the dish
just a few, more the artistic movies really.
as to books.
The better conan novels are more like snapshots
Take the tower of the elephant for example
or War of the worlds (closest would probably be "quest" but I think that is focusing on the mechanism by which the tale is told rather than the story itself.
The forever war
Gateway (seriously if you read one sci-fi book it needs to be this)
EDIT: the problem is, Hollywood is built around minimizing risk.
perfect example is avatar. Originally it had a completely different story line (one the sequels will hopefully encompass) But fox werent willing to invest in the film unless it was re-built around a story they KNEW would sell....hence the Pocahontas in space
Yep.
Any black and white, silent, jazz scored French 'arthouse' film.
They don't have plots.
That's a lot politer than the term I use for such utter tosh.
Can't type word from work PC. I sets off the filters.
Also, how to stop Mr Mystery reading any online article ever. Simply include in your article, ideally up the top, a reference to 'mainstream corporate media'.
You can keep your bongos, stupid clothes and trustfund to yourself, wannabe Hipster/Anarchist/Idiot in a V for Vendetta mask.
The deffintions are quite "loose": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seven_Basic_Plots
War of the Worlds - "Over coming the monster"
Tinker Taylor Sailor Spy - "The Quest"
The others I've not happened upon.
I just sculpted 46 sets of eyelids.
*bloodshot eyes*
Why?
Have you not seen my Flying Polyps?
apparently not. they on fb?
No.
Yes, in my Call of Cthulhu album.
I did say loose
I know, but still it fits the troupeQuote:
The protagonist sets out to defeat an antagonistic force which threatens the protagonist and/or protagonist's homeland.

Did you know, using text message shorthand can drive me into a rage?
It's true. I just find it monstrously lazy. Not to mention outdated. It's not as if text messages have enough of a character limit to necessitate shorthand.
And when it's used on Facebook, or online reviews....grah! Vile!
Oh yes very clever.
Shorthand irritates me too:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...d_by_cross.png
See that doesn't annoy me, on account it's taking dictation, and thus makes time and motion sense.
And at the end of the day, the written shorthand is only for the writer to view.
Text speech? Abomination.
Dirty boy.
But if the message is understandable by you, then surely it is fine. The same way it is fine to "american-i-fy" words or change the meaning of words or spellings, or convert nouns to verbs?
Trouble is, text messages are sent to others. Fine if the recipient is also grammatically challenged. But on Facebook and other stuff? Treat it like your Sunday best.
I only ever seem to write in full sentences anyway.
Cheers 'splodgy!
I bet they'll look good painted
But surely on bookface then those who you are communicating with, or wanting to will understand what it is you are saying?
It is like if I were to post a latin joke/pun I know whom of my friends will read it and understand it. I don't really care about those who fail to understand.
The trouble is that if you are going for the most universally understood then for that person "text-speak" is an acceptable approximation.
For instance I know a person who on bookface always replaces th with f and it irrirates me no end, fortunately I have not befriended them. But I imagine to those educationaly subnormals that she posts to would understand it.
But what is "Sunday best"? As much as I wish that we would solely use a technical form of language, it is constantly evolving. If you use the word "snuck" should you be castigated for using shorthand? Or use -ise instead of -ize (or vice versa).
If I had my way people who use "Octopi" would be rounded up and shot.
Not when they crawl, flap or ooze their way onto my status it's not.
Oh for a remote control orbital precision cattle prod type thing. That'd learn then.
And in other news.
So many Horror films. I cannot possibly purchase them all :(
Yeah splodge, they'll be a fleshy colour. But like a sickly kinda flesh colour.
Just waiting for the spray to dry.
