Might just go with an estate.
Hearses aren't cheap!
But a hearse is such good long term value - it'll last you 'til you die and even a bit after that!
Go for the bike, you will avoid the emission charges, go as quick as the traffic in the city of london and get fit. Did I mention it is cheaper brand new than a van/car, cheaper insurance, no MOT, no VED,
Damn work internet is running at half a meg ¬_¬
No. Not zoom...
Mine is currently 15.5 meg :(
I'm currently sat in the cinema waiting for Spiderman 2 to start.
I remember the days I thought that was fast XD
yeah I didn't connect my PC to the internet in those days
noob
ah how we take broadband speeds for granted, remember there are some poor souls in this third world* country we call England which still doesn't have ANY broadband at all....
*and yes I know we are one of the top ten richest countries in the west, but tell that to all the poor sods having to get food parcels just to feed their children....
If they hand out free food people are going to take it...
They don't just hand it out, I say that as a volunteer and regular donor at my local food bank.
People on benefits don't have the amazing easy life they are portrayed as having, the fraud rate for benefits is about 2%, much lower than the rate of tax evasion, people out of work and claiming benefits are much less likely to be stealing from the country than people with jobs. Self employed people especially where the evasion rate is really high.
People don't question the fraud rate. People question why someone should have their benefits capped at £26k which to earn net would require what £35k gross £40k gross?
Kudos for the volunteering work :)
How much of the food poverty is because people do not know how to cook/budget?
We have Trussell Trust say 0.9 million food packages were handed out last year
Then we have Waste and Resources Action Programme saying that 6 meals a week of food is thrown away so stop 3 for 2 offers.
Take this family: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-16812185
His £240/week food shop includes:
Which is somewhere in the region of half the food bill.Quote:
Includes food and household goods, 24 cans of lager, 200 cigarettes and a large pouch of tobacco
Heck, the weekly food shop including cleaning products for me weighs in at around £30/week for me and my partner. Neither my partner nor I are over/under weight, we get our 5 portions of fruit or veg a day, I have meat at least once a day.
All removing 3 for 2 offers does is punish those at the bottom, on things with long dates 3 for two or bogof are amazingly helpful, assuming you know how to budget properly, organise your freezer etx, and not just pile them in your trolley as the big shiny sign says to...
Yup. Buy clever, my 10p bread is going strong in the freezer!
What I tend to do is buy all ym fresh stuff at one big shop, then cook for 4 and freeze the 2 spare meals. Then about mid-month pick some more fresh fruit.
It is simple.

Nah, it's fine. who cares if they invade London?
London isn't terrible. Unless you live there.
I dislike it, for work reasons its a nightmare to be anywhere at a given time.
For personal visits its a pain in the arse to get to, expensive to stay, and everything insists on being there
like I've got to go again because distant worlds insists on just doing london.
half velociraptor half millipede, all danger.
hehehehehehehehehe
unfortunately they do
yeah, the fraud percentage is low, but it is still a vast amount of money. having worked in the benefits office too I would say the percentage is not at all accurate either.
Hmm.
Home buying. Had a poke about. There are suddenly studio flats for sale in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Some of them surprisingly cheap (in the region of £90,000 - £110,000).
They may not be much, but.......................they are a leg on the property ladder, and likely to accumulate value quite nicely. Mortgage is unlikely to be more than I pay in rent for something similar, and has the added value of not being money pissed up the wall into someone else's pocket.
Hmm.
Further proddings.....on my wage, and being on me todd, it seems HSBC would be willing to lend me up to £108,000, though naturally the more of a deposit I can assemble, the better. Defo food for thought.
Reckon spend 3ish years assembling deposit and fixing up credit rating, and ask parental unit to help out with deposit (they did buy my bro a flat, and sooner or later it'll all be inheritance anyways). Ideally save up a minimum 10% deposit meself, which is around £12,000. £333.33 a month will see that assembled within three years, and annual bonus can be lumped into that as well, increasing amount saved as my wages rise (could get £4k raise in December.....). Reckon whatever wage goes up by goes straight into savings pot (ideally in parents name, to stop idiot spending).
Shall nip to bank as well I think to discuss most appropriate savings vessel, be it an ISA of some kind or what have you.
I'M MOVING UP IN THE WORLD PEEPS!
Free surround sound system! Back of the net!
Where'd you get a free surround sound system? I want a free surround sound system.
Guy I know moved house, had no space.
So he donated it.
Easter Weekend now set to be AWESOME AND HI DEF!
But Spiderman though...
you want t o be careful mystery, if they're that price are they the ones they built for social housing and the housing association have knocked them back as not fit for purpose(too small generally)
Is a studio flat what used to be called a bedsit?
yes apparently he should be put back under his rock so he can be whiny and angst ridden in private.
This is greater nodnol, a property the size of my shed is like 100k. Though now is a good time to buy what with the 95% mortgages out there .
Oh how I want to move :(, I found myself planning a rose garden and veggie patch last night.
Also, Happy Monday Thorsday!
A rose garden?
