But what of the cargo? You're cargo cult isn't going to last long without the cargo!

Because the ship should have gps telling it where it and the land is?
Your experience of GPS is very different to mine.
ha I'm assuming maritime gps does that.
I doubt theres much call for that to scream do a u-turn :D
Everyone knows that Skynet gave up on the Terminator and holocaust method, and instead devised a way to get us all to drive ourselves off cliffs.
That explains everything.
in other news, XKCD Guy is writing a book! and I'm honking mad at Amazon that they don't have the original version available here in Germany, only the (probably crappy) translation
Can't you buy off the US or UK site?
The UK site should probably still get you free delivery as I'm pretty sure some of my amazon orders come from the continent
OK scratch that problem - the search was just not working properly, they've got it under a slightly different title *yay*
And the best thing is, until it's published (September) I'll definitely have forgotten about it, at which point it's going to be a great surprise :D
but there are not ships out in the fog we have had last few nights. the cargo ships don't dock here, the ferry sails at 2:30am, not for 16 hours, and the fishing boats didn't leave. so why exactly was it sounding from 8pm through to 11am? nobody was going to sail over from england on a personal trip in weather like that. I think people took my criticism more seriously than it was intended, but I would seriously question the purpose of the foghorns. they were officially retired here many years ago, the last two nights were the first time they have been used in my lifetime.
Well thanks to fog horns I have avoid colliding with the IoM
Also, the Ukranian poledancer, I liked her tainted love entry, that was sweet.
Also, what is with all the hate in the threads today :'(
Definately not Chester Zoo, in the end went to Carew Castle

Yeah, holy crap, I've reported like three posts today. I mean, I and a few others on here can be pretty argumentative, but there's been some straight up insults tossed around from people with ten or twenty posts.
Not round here it's not!
As Darklink said, disagreements are common, and frankly expected given it's an open discussion. But hostility and trolling? Not here. We're not Dakka.
yeah, the Chaos crowd have been getting rowdy on the boards again lately, that proberly doesn't help, they seem to be hijacking every thread based on loyalist releases as well...
:D
And yes I know i'm posting at half 12 at night, can't sleep :D
Have you ever been on a sea in heavy fog? Living on an island, I'm guessing you do venture away from your computer occasionally and get on a ferry somewhere. I've been at sea in heavy fog and it can be really scary, and its easy to become disorientated. When I served on detachment I witnessed crews being rescued from small ships on two occasions which had ran aground, even with modern GPS navigation and sonar it still happens, on both occasions everyone was taken off ok but it was still an dangerous situation for everyone involved. Granted foghorns are a little antiquated, many have now been disabled, obviously the port authority where you live felt that the fog conditions were sufficiently bad to warrant using it temporarily, as they still form part of a system of accident prevention that can and has saved many lives in the past. Sorry your sleep was interrupted, my advice in future would be to put a pillow over your head, or maybe not live near a port on an island in the middle of the Irish Sea
So not seeing my lovely lady this weekend.
Being at a loose end, I finally got round to cleaning the cooker top. Which involved some Me Muscle, scourer and elbow grease. It was left sparkling clean.
Trouble being? Rest of kitchen looked comparatively clarty. So all of kitchen now cleaned. Including mopping the floor.
And since I had the mop out, did the bathroom as well. And followed up by cleaning shower, sink and the Kidderminster.
Yep. Accidentally kicked off a spring clean :(
oh dear :(, i usually get people in to do that as I can't be arsed.
Hoovering done now.
Blech.
Accurate, I assume?Quote:
If you're further interested in my piercing intellect, I've also unraveled a great historical mystery. Some people have wondered how England, a tiny island nation with scant resources, managed to assemble the vastest empire the world has ever seen. The answer, my friends, is tea.
The British need for tea, is pathological, and cannot be denied. There exists some deep-seated vampiric urgency in the English genetic makeup that nothing save tea can sate. Unfortunately, tea leaves do not grow in England. So they set sail in search of tea. They formed colonies in the New World, but tea was not to be found. A great mercantile fleet assembled, to search further, and to fund vaster fleets, in order to search further yet for tea. Thus was born the vaunted British navy.
British colonies erupted around the world! Tea was not to be found in Africa, so they initiated the slave trade, to finance additional tea expeditions. Australia yielded no tea, so they figured, "Drat, well since it's an island, we might as well dump the bloody prisoners!"
Finally, the British seized India: oft referred to as the crown jewel of Her Majesty's Empire, for she offered an endless bounty of tea. And with that, British expansion came to an end. England's dominion over India was relinquished only when modern economic climes guaranteed a steady flow of inexpensive, quality tea to all the corners of the world, and the entire Empire unraveled.
Sheer genius. I should pursue doctorates in Biology and History with these penetrating observations.
Now I fancy a cuppa ;)
Tea is now grown in africa.
What I never understood, being a loose tea proponent, is that we went from loose, to bagged, and now bags are trying to be bigger and bigger so the tea has more room to circulate, surely, what is better is within an entire pot? Unless you are going to start to make pot-sized tea bags and that is just stupid.
Also British for two reasons, Highland shock troops and Scottish Bankers. Why else is the pound Sterling?
Double post.

FOR THE GLORY OF CHAOS!
I seriously love The Crimson Slaughter. :)
What causes the love precious? Not had a chance to reads it yet.
Its a pretty good read, the background is interesting and the fall of the crimson slaughter is different to the badab war.
It is also better at portraying small scale "for ****s and giggles" warband day to day activities than the Chaos codex which focuses more on the significant galactic events of ALL warbands.
My only real gripe is that it contains a fair bit of re-used art, but there are some very nice new pieces in there as well.
@Mystery - The rules are great, the background is great, the new art is good, and I like the scenarios.
@Deadlift - Only when it comes to Imperium/Space Marines. :p
@daboarder - Yeah, it's cool to know that Space Marines can still suffer from PTSD and such. They shall know no fear, that is true, but they shall know insanity. :D
Another thing, at GW Shrewsbury currently we have a 4 week contest to build and convert the best looking Chosen squad. I have built 5 out of 10 guys currently. :D
Having a hot chocolate and Tim Tams while watching this (it's great):

now there's a question... hmmmm... :D
if the Dinobot is real I'd almost prefer that, if only to live in a world that's that awesome! :)
Dinobot. 100%.
