All hail megatron!
First proper frost of the winter :( I've only been able to feel my toes for the last 30 minutes. Dman it.
Guardians of the Galaxy out on home media today.
JOY!
I will wait for netflix ;)
It's here it's here it's here!
WOOOOOO!
So excite to see this again. Version I saw in the Cinema was a press screening, and didn't have a certain Superfowl in it....
I've still not seen it :(
Also decided to move house again, though I have to wait 18 months to get out of my fixed term period. :( Trying to decide how to move my fruit bushes and trees.
Two weeks in a row I've been nominated for employee of the division, though owing to poluitics (i.e. not my team's turn to win) I didn't win :'(
Already? No improvement in noise?
As I complain about their tv so they complain about my dog and to be honest in two years time I should be able to afford a detached house then I can start listenting to my music loud and not really care about those adjoining people.
oh dear.
Detached is a huge improvement over adjoining walls but you can still have 'that neighbor'. We have 1/2 acre in town and the guy next door manages to spend every free hour mowing, leafblowing, weedeating or generally just making noise. I swear that one of these days that leaf blower is going where the sun doesn't shine! Now we're looking at a 100 acre mountain property spread to get away from the noise hell of the city.
its alright for some :p
Though land is relatively cheap in the US right?
Depends heavily on location as even mountain property can be pricey. Lucky for us, we both grew up in West "by God" Virginia and the mountain property there is still relatively cheap. 100 acres will eat ~$250k USD plus whatever we want to spend on building the house. We both love crafts so we are looking at house designs that have our "play" room being the majority of the entire house.
see that's what neighbours are for, to annoy the hell out of each other :p
Personally I'm still dreaming of finding a nice dry cave in a mountainside, with soloar panels outside and insulated walls to go live in.....
Or a Hobbit Hole :D
Though I did see a nice bungalow on the isle of mann which was less than my current house, so I might be "neighbours" to kirsten...

house prices are pretty high over here by and large. not quite London high, but usually not that far off. because the island is so small as well, you don't really get cheaper areas to live. it can often be the opposite way round to England as well, where being outside of a town actually puts prices up, because you are still only no more than half an hour away from the city, whilst having the benefits of space etc.
House prices get really weird here. Some mountain areas like Wyoming have super high prices even though you are literally in the middle of nowhere. Our home state of West Virginia is a pricing anomaly. You are so-so close to a lot of major metros on the East coast but near nothing... reminds me of the Jack of All trades saying. Still 100 acres with a 2500 square foot house will probably run ~$500k. It is actually quite expensive to build your own road into a property that large and mountains are notoriously costly to work with. At the end of the day the heightened privacy supports the price tag.
apparently though I can't cycle across the water so that plan is doomed to fail unless I work from home...
water cycling is quite tricky
No worries mate! A solution is right here: ;)

Back of an envelope calculation says I should be fine, I won't be aquaplaneing until like I hit 90mph so that is fine
Urgh. I think I'm coming down with something....
Lemsip doesn't seem to be helping either. This is rubbish.
If it makes you feel any better I am in fine fettle.
I usually am - very rarely get ill.
Blech. Will see how it goes - might take tomorrow off, as I tend to do better in the long run when I can spend a day properly sweating it out.
Rather you than me Mystery ;)
But at least it should be gone in time for the serious merry making.
Well indeed.
Currently also feeling a bit of a chill - very not-me!
Maybe you are just becoming southern?
Nah. Been here 23 years now. Hasn't started, so not gonna happen.
Could do with going home - but not gonna do a part-timer.
If I'm better tomorrow, great. If not, sick day. I always get over stuff quicker when I wuss out on the second day.
I don't tend to stay ill all that long.
OH, and that's just EFFing marvellous isn't it?
Reasonable chance I won't be in tomorrow, as I'm feeling very ropey, and now Forgeworld ship my Knight Combine and Vol IV.
Bah!
The world is consipiring against you.
Thinking of sick days, I;ve not lost a day of work owing to one for a couple of years now.
Hmm, might need a week off with toncilitus ;)
No no no.
Poncilitis - an acute inflamation of nothing whatsoever.
Now feeling a bit better - really don't want to take a day off, as other than migraines, I've not been off sick here well...ever, now I think about it. I've got a reputation to uphold!
