How do I defend against this onslaught?
If you think about it you might have a flash of inspiration.
Some modern art is awesome though. Like Gormleys work, it's interesting and fun.
My favorite is this

It's not just what it is (a room full of badly made clay men) but what they represent. The field of the British isles was made not just by the artist but children from primary schools and just regular folks that volunteered. If you look closely there's also different shades of clay which I guess represent all the different races in our country too. All together. I think it's rather wonderful and when I saw it for real, it was rather moving too.
So the extent of work by 'the artist' is arranging for loads of other people to make neat little statues, and then taking those cool little statues, and putting them in a room.
Blech. Modern Art. Blech.
That's interesting.
Not sure if I like it. But its certainly interesting.
I think I'd certainly pause to stare.
It looks cool.
But the 'artist' is having a laugh. He hasn't done any real work there, and that's not cool.
on a side note, Guardians of the Galaxy looks a real hoot

No ? He brought people from community's the world over to make these "people" which then traveled around in his exhibition. If you ever get to see it you will also notice a large plaque with everyone's name on it who contributed. There's also a video about its construction.
You may not think it's cool, but what it represents I think it rather is :D
mehh, Art is only Art if the viewer believes it is Art, so you are all right and yet all wrong as well....
As for the clay figures, I like the concept, but that guy in charge shouldn't call himself THE Artist of the piece, perhaps the Director would be more correct....
But that's like assuming all the great painters, sculptors, playwriters and architects did all their own work. They didn't.
Anyway. Yes Guardians looks awesome. It was a novel idea for it to be a movie too, especially as so many of the heroes are unknown to the masses.
Yeah, I ain't never heard of them. Someone fill me in. I watched some video on the interwebs that said they were connected to that collector bloke from the end of Thor and that it had something to do with some all powerful gauntlet of doom that looked like something they found when they were clearing out Liberace's glove box. Am I on the right lines? Also, why is Bert Racoon one of them?
The infamous Infinity Gauntlet, it can turn the wearer into a god-like being, sought after for donkey's ages by Thanos, big bad guy seen at the end of Avengers Assemble.
I like the description you gave it though :)
Rocket Raccon you uneducated heathen :D I remember him in Marvel comics in the late 80's...
End music of that show also plays out 'Hobo with a shotgun'
Man is asked to do some logo design work by a guy who didn't pay him for his last work. return emails are hilarious and not safe for work

It's an old one by a good one :)
True story.
Watched that battlefield LA, we mentioned somewhere on here other day, last night. Not a bad film at all really.
On the lgbt thread?
Did you not feel like you were waiting for tripods or will smith?
No.
Should I have been?
I think it was Kirsten that hit the nail on the head, like a war film where the enemies just happen to be aliens.
It just felt like another film to me, quite strange.
Nah that film was all about planes.
I thought it was a film about a black man and a jew saving the world, sorry america.
But that one was totally unbelievable.
He managed to get a 90's mac to talk to an alien mothership.
You couldn't even get a 90's mac to talk to a printer...
Yeah, that's him. So he's a guardian of the galaxy now and he has an ent from the evergreen forest along for company and they are looking for one of the stones from Liberace's magic glove. I think I'm up to speed now.
As aRacoon based aside, one of my mates has a broken nose and we managed to get a perfect picture of him with a cigar in his hand, looking exactly like Cyril Sneer. The two pictures were proudly displayed side by side in his house at uni for three years. Made me smile every time I looked at it.

Should we? Why would that be?
And on Monday, I shall be the owner of Thor 2 in 3D.
