It's the franchise that didn't say no! Such a good film, ruined by pathetic marketing. But fan support has got it to Web Series - it seems possible we might see more films off the back of a hit....

Another thing the negative reviewers missed - just how little enjoyment/satisfaction Dredd gets. He categorically does not get off on having to kill people. He's not doing it for kicks. The film really does get across that when Dredd says 'I am the Law', he very much means it. He's compassionless, relentless, and there to uphold The Law, regardless.
Though I still think it would have been better if he shot the two Juves :p
I agree Dredd is a great adaptation of the comic for the budget it had, imagine Mega City if they had a bigger budget....
I really do think it is the 21st Centuary's Bladerunner, it to was maligned at the cinema by critics, but gained cult status when screened on TV and released on VHS (remember them? :D )

Joe's doubts were first voiced to, I think, Minty, his old Mentor, who recommended getting a pair of boot two sizes too small. The constant pinching would keep his mind off the doubts :)Quote:

For me, I've enjoyed both Amazing films more than the original trilogy of them. Garfield is just a better Peter Parker (some might say, a Superior Spiderman doyouseewhatididthere). Though I felt Green Goblin in the new one was bloody awful. Comes out of nowhere, doesn't really do much, and just doesn't really work for me as a character. Bold move, but didn't pay off for me.
I've really enjoyed the last two films a lot although the second one had a host of problems... There's just something about them that, whilst better than the previous three, just doesn't quite connect for me.
No problem with Rhino being a thug but I can't understand a word he says on screen... and the lull at the end where Spiderman takes over from Spider kid is far too campy for my liking. I've also never seen so many civilians laugh in the face of death either.
I found them far better than the original trilogy... although the 3rd film was so bad it may have colored my opinion of them all. Spiderman has always been one of my favorite comic heroes so I really want to see the movie universe work. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were both superb in the new series even though the stories had issues. Some on SONY, you can do it! :p
Reboot, bring back Gwen Stacy and tie in with teh Avengers = win.
Apparently, Sony are continuing with the Sinister Six, and a girly led Spidey film. Which is interesting.
And you know, I think it's the baddies letting down The Amazing series. Lizard I couldn't give a fig about as a character, nor Electro to be honest. I just don't get much of a feeling of threat off them. Ditto Green Goblin. Preceding trilogy did much better with the villains, even if Spidey himself wasn't up to much (not counting Venom, on account I dunno what it was, but it was not Venom)
