Screw all that!
I've won a pair of tickets to Guardians of the Galaxy pre-screening on Wednesday!
Oh yes!
did you win them from a Nigerian Prince?
Nope. Fully legit through a Marvel draw.
I R EXCITE! And still have a spare.
I can release the free tickets but it will cost $1000 USD to do so. You can wire me the money via Specific Union c/o Prince_Wit_UR_Ca$$h, then I will be pleasing to give for to you access to funds totallying $2,500,000 USD which the corrupt government are trying to steal from me. I would be rather giving my monies to a stranger than to them neofacists.
I'll stick with my free ones ta!
Not that any part of tankery could be called "practical", but if you were actually going to do this, look at the lifespan, availability, and ease of replacement (i.e. physically swapping out a set) of the tracks. Tank tracks have an appallingly short lifespan (think 1-3000 miles in best case scenario), and things would tend to get exponentially worse once the track leaves the road wheels (although strangely enough, the early Christie designs had powered road wheels and were made to run with tracks off for transport along roads).
I like to think there is one genuine Nigerian Prince who really does want to give his money away and is very frustrated that nobody will accept.
My girl cousins 5-9 are currently devouring all the literature on tanks my brothers possess. Take that gender roles!
Just realised we should be taking them to the Bovington museum.
Why is six afraid of seven?
Because seven sees the fate of the universe as a game of chess that must be won, no matter the cost, going as far as to manipulate people, even those he loves, to carry out what he deems morally wrong but ultimately necessary, and even seems to enjoy it at times. Six pretends to be, at most, annoyed by seven, but in actuality, he is absolutely terrified at what he will and must become. And that is why six is afraid of seven.
Labour in favour of part nationalisation of the rail network.
Well, it's better than nothing.
But there's something I just don't get. The populace seem firmly in favour of nationalising this service. And our Government already subisidises profit making companies than run (poorly, oh so poorly) the existing services.
So why are our main political parties so reticent to fully renationalise? Public transport is pretty important overall to our economy, as commuting expands people's employment options. But, the ridiculous, ever rising costs can prevent someone from taking a more lucrative job in another area. I can use myself as an example. I was fed up in my previous role, as it paid nuts all for what I was doing, and the prospect for career advancement was frankly laughable. So I took a punt, and landed my current job in London. A job which paid £10,300 a year more.
Yet thanks to Southeastern Trains outrageous prices, this move would not have been possible were it not for my parents helping me out with my first months travel costs. Why? Well, I was on £13,200 a month, which after tax, rent, bills and food, left me with roughly £200 a month. That first months season ticket? £432...... Now there's tightening your belt, and there's dodging your bills and not eating for a month......
Once I was up there, no issue, I was earning more than enough money to cover that, and besides after my first month, work runs a loan scheme, so I got a 6 month ticket and paid it off straight from my wages.
Now I've done really, really well there. My career is advancing quickly, and thanks to the higher wage, I'm more economically active. Hell, in just 4 years I should be a home owner, the holy grail of individual economic activity. This is good for me (first and foremost!) and also good for my local economy, as I can spend more, and I pay more in tax. Win all round. Yet a win nearly made impossible because of privatised rail networks and their ridiculous costs.
Even if the service itself is run at a loss by the country, the economic boons a more mobile workforce brings should more than outweigh that.
So why, why are our main political parties scared of doing it? Even Das Daily Goosestep is calling for it. Das Daily Goosestep, calling for a smidge of socialism? You know there has to be something to it when those nutjobs are in favour!
That's what they want you to think!
Five murdered nine and framed seven for it.
so tempted by the Bolt Action tank supplement, all those tanks... mmmmmm...
Too. Humid.
Stupid weather. Even when it's nice, you find a way to ruin it!

Much too French.
Had to finally give in a buy a new lawn mower yesterday.
Distinct improvement over the one we've used for the last 6+ years.
Wife complains about the capacity of the bag.
So--size apparently matters in more than just the mind-in-the-gutter sense. :P
