Ouch! Hope there's no long term damage. What'd you do?

Also I found out that in Russian they don't say “I love you” they say “пожирать плоть капиталистов” which means “we are one and the same” and I think that's really beautiful.

Deadlift

At 1st I wasn't going to get it checked out, but after taking off my diy patch up job with electrical tape and plasters I realised it was a bit grim, rang 111 and they told me to get down to A and E

Cleaned out wound which stung a bit, had to pull around the flaps of skin over the wound to clean it out. Not pleasant lol
Couldn't stitch it as the wound despite being quite deep starts right next to the nail so I got the stick on ones and a bandage.
Just got to keep a eye out for infection, but I think it will be ok just uncomfortable. I was going to take a pic but it's a bit grim and now covered up. :D. Going to be a cool scar

In and out in 3 and a half hours, not bad for really.

I have one rule for media reports on science, if it hasn't been published in a peer reviewed paper first, then its probably bull****

I went to procure a build a bear toothless, they all sold out at weekend and I was told there'd be more today, but nope they've sold them all and have no more to deliver...wasted hour and half there and no toothless :(

Question about those grabby-claw machines.....

Do they have a sort of cash related timer which dictates when they don't go all butter fingers when the claw has been winched in? It's really annoying when you've got something well in the grip, and then 'oops, spasm and down it goes'.

They are designed to make you think you nearly "won" so you go again. Skill is involved but there's also a processor and control box in each machine. They are like a fruit machine and run on a percentage. The computer counts how much goes in between each win and strengthens the grip when it's time to pay out again. But you could still win a toy for 30p if the machine has already taken enough in that cycle to pay a toy out. Mine are pretty generous compared to some. I buy quality toys, not the usual crap and I pay top money for it. Anything between £5 to £8 a toy and I have my machines set to £20 to £25 a toy. I also have one crane set up with all the end of line toys in it which is much more generous. It clears out all the odd toys and I point customers in its direction if they feel pissed they hadn't won anything. I also have signs on my cranes explaining they are percentage based and not a skill game. Anyone asks I tell them exactly how they work. Whilst I'm in this to make money, I don't like to rub peoples faces in it. I also have a huge supply of Chuba Chub lollies and cheap plush to give the upset kids if they don't win a prize :D
