And as an added bonus (well for me), they should be easy to Nurgle up.
Very refreshing in an age when nearly every human SF soldier looks like halo, mass effect or star wars. The Auxilia is much more in line with my taste.
Agreed. I really like how their kit is clearly adapted from industrial gear.
I keep meaning to do those Rogue Trader rules so I have an excuse to get a small number.
It's intended as a Necromunda/Mordheim mash up, with vehicle rules lifted from Gorkamorka.
One day I'll do it!
Oh wow, nice! I really like those guys. Agree the (presumably) back-up crank on the chainsaw is a great touch! :D the surgical aprons look nice too. SOme of the gear is very clearly based on medical implements in use around the turn of the 19th to 20th century too (I cannot name most- only recognise most of them from museum collections, although bone saws are pretty obvious). Really nice touch. The aesthetic of the Solar Auxillia is generally great, 19th century aesthetics melded with 31st Millennium technology powering it. Works great :D
I've seen people saying the they don't look high-tech enough, but the description of the IA in the HH novels often has them in very traditional sounding dress, and below that Imperial aesthetic, they do have loads of really advanced gear keeping them at the forefront of the GC. Just a great concept really.
That guy in the middle's probably among the top ten minis in FW's history, for me. Hot damn.
