Via Warseer. I assume they will be resin not plastic, but that is the route AoW are going to who cares? The more (evil) female kits the better.Quote:

Yep most people are assuming Witch Elves. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the concept. Or what they do if it isn't Witch Elves.
Well, it's going to be something compatible with Warhammer, so it's pretty much a dead cert for witch elves.
True. but we don't know for sure. Everyone thought the next plastic kit AoW would be releasing was going to be Witch Elves too so I just think we shouldn't take these things for granted.:)
A fair point. I'm just struggling to think of another likely choice. I suppose Harpies perhaps. Or daemonettes. Female chaos warriors? Or female Orcs?
Female Chaos warriors would be nifty. Even if they are Elves they could be female Executioners or Black Guard too, come to think of it. I'm rather looking forward to finding out.
Could be female equil - like female dwarves, orcs etc...
Have some mixture all over... Wanted to build a guard female army and now all those heads are available...
Given the other releases they've put out, I'd put money on a unit of female Chaos Warriors.
hmm interesting. Looking forward for what it will be.
Little bit miffed they said it would be announced in February and it is now March with no word.:(
interested to see what they look like.
I wonder what on earth this could be:

That's a nice looking Witch Elf...
WANT!

NOW!

you cant really tell but from their silhouettes alone they look very dynamic
Ohh very interesting. I like the poses, though of the shot with the 10 in it I note that none of them is the one from the solo pic, and the blurb mentions a command group who are also not seen. Assuming that the solo is a unit champion/hero, then there's at least another 2 figures to be seen yet (Musician & Standard bearer). As they seem to be being sold in 5 packs, that would mean either you get a random 5 out of the 10 in each box, or there's 2x troops 5 packs coming. Guess we'll find out soon.
Loving the name too: Blood Vestals, yeah like that lot are even remotely virginal!
Fate is conspiring to force me into playing Dark Elves again...
Eldargal, IIRC, arent you a Empire/new VC general? how would these evil elf women fit into your armies? Arent the dogs of war illegal now? :)
*just doing my part, as my Knights are loathe to run down helpless maidens from the top of my mounted steed*
High and Dark Elves were my first armies, followed by Empire and recently VC.:) Dark Elves are probably my favourite army fro ma lore perspective and would be from a modelling perspective if mor of the range were plastic.
Actually as nice as these new models look to be, I can't help but wonder how useful they are. I've long been tempted by a Dark Elf army and have just been looking through the various DE army lists posted here... and not one of them that I can find has Witch Elves in it. Reading the army book itself they seem to be decent enough troops and the price is fair so why the great aversion to using them? Can someone enlighten me?
I'm not sure, I always use Witch Elves and find them very effective with or without a cauldron of blood. They are fragile, though. I find them most effective when given spells/characters to either get them into combat quickly or protect them from missile weapons.
I often run a horde of 40, and the only reason I don't use two units in larger games is I don't want to buy more of the current models, what with GW and Raging Heroes working on their own versions.
Insomnia isn't so ba when it results in Evl Elven Devils Dumplings:

Looking good. The face is suitably stern/cruel looking. And there's going to be sci-fi versions as well. I'll have to let my friend who plays Dark Eldar know about that. If the rest of the figures are as good as this one, I reckon they will sell loads of them!
As for me, guess I'll be getting that Dark Elf army then... my poor wallet.
I have to admit, they look really nice. They have made great job with the bodies/armour and the faces look pretty nice too.
I've suggested on the Raging Heroes blog (along with quite a few others) that they reduce the size of the heads and perhaps try and make the faces a little less masculine. But on the whole they really are nice sculpts from what we've seen so far.
Also at one Euro each they will be super affordable. Almost too affordable. I think something suspicious is going on.:p
Nice model.
However, whilst I dont mean to lower the tone- thats where Im going.
The reverse gravity....?
All Witch Elves come with enchanted bras of lift and support. I'm more impressed with her thighs, those are some impressive thighs.
Almost makes me want to start a witch elf themes army. I have a fondness for female armies since my main 40K army is Sisters of Battle.
Scale comparison by Kendoka, stolen fom the Raging Heroes blog:

I have to say that the proportions of the head look much, much better when the picture is sized down. I'll happily buy 40+ of these now.
One Euro each??? Unfortunately, that is incorrect information...
What we mentioned on our blog post is that if we were to do an SF version with a choice of weapons for each mini, then that would increase the price by one additional Euro per mini.
We are sorry for the confusion :-(
Sorry about that, not sure how why I said that, one euro per figure is obviously ridiculous.
The pre-order is up for these lovely & lethal ladies. From their website:
http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/003...l10.jpg?100588
We are proud to announce that our 10 Blood Vestals are now available for pre-order!
Limited Introductory Offer
Don't miss out on our special low launch price reserved for the first 100 Blood Vestals boxes and the first 25 Command Group boxes.
The Command Group box contains 1 Heroine, 1 Musician and 1 Standard Bearer as well as 2 additional Warriors.
The Blood Vestals box contains 5 more different Warriors.
Together, the Blood Vestals + Command Group total up 10 different characters.
They are 28mm scale and an excellent fit with most major Fantasy games.
Each Blood Vestal is a one-part metal cast.
Thank you for your feedback!
We not only worked non-stop this entire week to finalize our Blood Vestals and have them available for pre-order this weekend, but we also spent much time reading all your comments on our blog and on other forums, and have taken them to heart. Several topics were recurrent, so we've specifically addressed them below.
Proportions and scale
After your massive feedback asking for 28-30mm scale minis, we have scaled our Vestals accordingly.
Many were also concerned about proportions and the head size, and we worked hard on this as well to get the best possible balance between true scale and heroic proportions so that the minis can make a good fit with the minis you already own, and we are pretty happy with what we've achieved on this.
We feel they will now fit extremely well with the industry's Fantasy games.
Variety
Based on some of your comments, we have carefully selected which Vestals would go into the command Group, and which would be in the Troops box.
We chose the more dynamic poses for the Troops.
You'll also notice that several of the characters in the Troops box have their arms and weapons away from their body. This gives you the option of slightly bending them or even replace weapons to create new poses.
And three of the five Vestals have a pose that is more of a profile view. This allows you to have them looking to the right, the left, or straight ahead, depending how you position them on their base.
As for the two soldiers in the Command Group, they have more hieratic, still poses that we felt worked well to add charisma to the Command Group.
Uncovered breasts
We were completely taken by surprise by the strong reactions this topic generated, particularly since major industry players have always and continue to produce bare-chested ladies (such as GW harpies played in Dark Elf armies).
Nevertheless, we studied several options to try and keep everyone happy. The only option that could have worked for us was to produce optional armoured caps to glue on the breasts, but then, we realized that they would have been about 1,5mm wide and pretty much unworkable. A tiny bit of greenstuff will do a much better job.
Science-Fiction
It is now certain that we will produce a science-fiction version of this unit. We will soon post an online questionnaire on our blog to get a more precise feedback in terms of equipment and accessories for them.
Prices
Approx £14.50 for the Troops box and £16.25 for the Command Group box. Very fairly priced I think.
Already ordered mine.:)
Heh why does that not remotely surprise me EG? ;) How many boxes have you gone for?
