RE: Doom Guy and PTSD... Maybe he *does* have it, and he's just approaching it in a different way than others. Whereas other people might show depression, paranoia, stuff like that, he instead embraced the madness and took on a "f*** the world" attitude, which most would recognize as an unhealthy view in a normal person, but really helps when you're walking around punching Hell in the face.
I really want to get more into making my own games of late, I keep moaning about the stuff id like to see so I feel I should stop moaning about it and try and learn.
Was feeling sorry for myself post dentist last night so had an other couple of easy hours on gamedevtycoon, before going back on fallout 4.
I became bethasda alternate releasing "mature" fantasy and post apocalyptic games either rpg or action/adventure. averaging 8-10s. One made me about £200m. Most got £50m-£100m Also appear to be the most popular booth every year :D
Gott I checked my machine gun turrets. Ones a mk5 the others a mk7. Moved them and put missile turrets in their place :D
Then went doing the arcadia quest and had to give up on the last puzzle cause brain wasn't having it. I'll get it tonight.
The last one's a PITA. Basically you have to travel to different areas, and remember to pick up your blocks as you go (especially when you're done with one spot and backtrack to others). That puzzle made me hate life and all living things for a few hours afterward. Apparently the reward's worth it. I'll have to go see. Got distracted with Overwatch the last couple days.
Oh I'll get it. I was post filling feeling sorry for myself. Still at least the hole in my tooth is gone :D
Wow. I'd heard UbiSoft was bad about that kind of thing, but didn't realize it was that bad. That's grade A false advertising right there.
I am playing Hard Reset Redux, made by the people who did Shadow Warrior, so very similar. just with robots instead of daemons. quite nice comic book sequences before each mission.

Lol @ those bingo cards, I wish Nintendo would make a new 2D metroid game again already.
well Nintendo are apparently only bringing Zelda to play, so I think that bingo card is much too big :P
Xbox One dashboard update, yes please. the current one is a total mess. how the hell did they take the excellent 360 one that was clean and clearly laid out, and spoil it so utterly? same for their webstore, absolutely awful piece of ****. how do you get a webstore wrong in 2016? it shouldn't even be possible any more.
The webstore pisses me off. I can't figure out how to sort anything, or find older games I might be interested in.
It's probably not a surprise my XBox One's catalog of games is currently Madden 16 (which I bought it to be able to play a non-screwed-up version of... thanks, EA), Halo Master Chief collection (friend pushed me to get it so we could split-screen the campaign), Disney Infinity (sadly canceled, so I better get those Star Wars figures ASAP), and a bunch of free games from EA Vault or Games with Gold, and backward-compatible games from my 360's collection.
Plus, y'know, PC is just better.
you can sort by release date, it just includes stuff that hasn't been released yet in that. so if you want to see what has been released this week you have to go to page three or four and take a guess.
Windows 95 Gold Edition? PLEASE, I'd prefer that to Win10 - lately iv been emulating Windows 3.11 within DOSbox within Windows7.
They're not going to announce that till it's ready for release almost.

Nice! Now to catch up with the DLC we already have.
Must say, I am dissapointed* - it might be a good game to be fair, but not what I personally want from a new Quake. I badly want to play a remake of the original. I did not like any of the sequels but the original is my fave game of all time and the reason I got into both HP Lovecraft and turned me into an industrial music fanatic!

* the music is f**king cool though
I hope they will eventually do a new single player game. I want to see a remake based on the new Doom engine with the Lovecraftian elements turned up to 11. There have been some good mods for the original that upped the lovecraft stuff such as the Quoth mod (which even added my fave lovecraft aliens, the flying polyps among others) but that just makes me want a remake with those elements even more. I don't think I've even ever see any other lovecraft FPS, the closest I guess is "Dark corners of the earth" but that is really more of a survival horror than a proper FPS.
ID if you ever read this and you make a more lovecraftian quake game, ill do the soundtrack for free :P
EA are also doing Star Wars Battlefront : X-Wing.
Coming to the PS4 for it's (flippin' expensive) VR headset.
Can I resist?
No. No I very probably can't.
And a VR Arkham Game! And Resident Evil VII......*flails*
I think I'll start saving for a GTX1080 and a vive. I'm going to see the VR wasteland.
Not running it on an XBone then? :D

Bleh. First of all, calling it "Star Wars: Battlefront: X-Wing?" Freaking mouthful. And on the PS VR? Nah. It'll probably be the uber-stripped-down controls for BF, and mostly a gimmick game.
Let someone other than EA develop SW games, and give us a real successor to X-Wing. I'm going to get real sick of Disney if they keep letting EA turn beloved Star Wars game franchises into stripped-down nothing.
I'm still left wondering if SW:BF was meant as a sort-of paid for test bed.
I totally agree the Starfighters (main reason I bought the game, also being starved of X-Wing action) was truly woeful, and poorly executed (STARS. THE CLUE IS IN THE NAME).....but given that disappointment can be spun into 'but now we've done it right, arfle arfle BUY OUR STUFFS, which I totes wouldn't put past EA....
I've pre-ordered the headset. If it turns out to be a gimmick, it turns out to be a gimmick. Won't know until I've tried, and I can still sell it on if I winds up largely 'meh'

But if the sims has taught us anything its the people are complete and utter *******s to computer people in their charge. What will people do to vault dwellers when given the actual tools to be an utter *******?
If nothing else, it'll provide good YouTube and Twitch fodder.
I don't think I'll run too many experiments on people, but building a Vault could still be fun.
I have to say, though, the first two DLC sound like they're taking some folks' mods and turning them into official DLC that's fleshed out and works 100% (because it's being made by Bethesda, not some gamer sitting at home trying to figure out how to make sure something works right). Not that I terribly mind, but it does just seem a bit odd.
I do want the craftable armour racks that work. What's the point of Fancy armour sets if you can't display them? Plus then I can go hunting for parts to display just for the lolz.
The lift will be intersting for multi story buildings.
Yeah, it'll be nice to have this stuff actually work pretty seamlessly in the game. Then I can have my really nice looking shops for armor, weapons, stuff like that.
Just saw a wonderful illustration of this point. Someone asked on the Sims reddit about quickest Sim death, and gave his own story. To make it short: He opted to create a homeless old bum and set up a lot to mimic an abandoned playground; Sims come over to welcome him to the neighborhood; he opts to have the old bum hit on the attractive young blonde and keeps building "Romance" until he gets the option to "Try For Baby in Bush" (the same bush he was using as a toilet), then opted to "Try for Baby in Tent," and apparently that was too much for the old man and he croaked, leaving an impregnated young woman covered in filth.
I can't help thinking as I read the story, "Buddy, this kind of stuff, even in a video game, is what gets you on 'special lists.'"
I hope that's not her real ****** face
