I forget which TW it was but I had the problem that my troops would abandon castle walls for some reason. So instead of raining death on them, they would run down off the wall open the gate sally out and attack from there.

I've seen that happen in medieval, rome, empire and shogun 2...
Also Hoplites are awesome early game.
I have 'Since you've been gone' by Rainbow stuck in my head.
Commiserations, I have "pursuit of Vikings"
Rome 2 doesn't have a release date yet. Bah
I've not played Empire in ages, such a good game. 'cept I could only ever bring myself to play as Britain or countries that would never go to war with Britain.
good, i still need to play farcry, 100% red dead redemption (normal and zombie), gta 4, and still play tf2 and planetside 2...
@eg, do such countries exist? everybody hates success in that game...
Well there were certain nations that even if Britain declared war on them nothing much happened. I hated the idea of, say, playing as the French and having to gigglestomp Britain for the winz. Also playing as Britain was fun, I loved building a huge navy and taking control of all the trade routes and slaughtering everyone tha tried to build their own navy. Like the French.
Speaking of the Royal Navy, I see the HMS Queen Elizabeth carrier is shaping up:

Have a 750pt game with my Dark Eldar vs Necrons soon, first game against them in an age.
I like the green/red marks, just in case they don't know which way round it goes.
Good luck with the game!
I was lucky enough to have a guided tour of the old Ark Royal (the one we just scrapped) while she was still in service.
Huge beast. But that...that is something else.
