And on a serious note, anything which opens up comics to more people is inherently cool. Because inclusivity is, remains, and will always be, cool.

That is encouraging news, here's hoping the series turns out to be good. I can think of a few existing characters that they could fit into it alongside the obvious new ones, such as Stephanie Brown (Spoiler), Cassandra Cain (Black Bat) and Miss Martian, the latter two of whom have been sorely missed since the start of the New 52. Steph is back as of the Batman Eternal weekly series and she's just as awesome as ever in it, though she's yet to create her Spoiler persona as of last weeks issue #12.
In other pro-female news, the ongoing series of Wonder Woman is going to be written by a female writer (Meredith Finch) once Brian Azzarello's run ends later this year, and the writer's husband (David Finch) will be handling the art duties. The new team promises that the title will be more closely tied into the rest of the DCU with a little less emphasis on mythology, which I feel is no bad thing after a few years now of very heavy mythology driven narrative that has had her title (whilst being well written and entertaining) seem something of an odd duck amidst the other Justice League member solo titles. I'd like to see her tangling with some supervillains for a change.
£10 says it's cancelled within a year because reasons.
Unfortunately the new Wonder Woman team have already stirred up controvery by trying to downplay WWs feminism. Not in a malicious way just in an ignorant fashion which is discouraging. Also the artist is famous for drawing women like they are children with breasts, it's really creepy and his cover for the first issue with the new team is kind of cheesecakey. So I'm concerned. A lot of people are expecting Supermans absence from the WW solo to end too.
Just found that quote.
