I've got an iPad now.
And I'm on my lunch. Playing Warhammer Quest. This is ace!
But on the other hand you have to use an iPad...
I mucked up my save on WHQ and now have to start all over again, I love it though, its exactly as frustrating and annoying as the board game could be!
I just got the Witch Hunter, so now I have all the DLC, obsesed.

About three things I was absolutely positive. First, I had a pokemon. Second, there was a part of me - and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be - that wanted to be the very best, like no one ever was. Third, Gary Oak was unconditionally and irrevocably a douchenozzle.
Also, Kirsten/Mystery you collecting amiabos yet?
Not yet, quite fancy a Zelda, Link, and Samus
I got a Samus, and fox but not used them yet.
SO got link, toon link, marthius(? or similar) and a pit.
Was looking for a zelda, but everywhere just has peach.
Might get a shiek instead...
Bought some of those infinity storage hexagons. what you can't see on the box is theres a hole and clips to hold infinity's so you need to make plasticard filler pieces to store amiibo figures in them...
have you done anything with your Amiibos? even after reading up about them I am still not sure what they do exactly. I do like the figures though, really like Zelda
I think they're like DLC characters for things like mario kart and smash bros, and possibly hyrule warriors.
But on some games they apparently level up? and they're linkable or something so you can use them on other peoples systems but still with your stats or something?
I'll try and have a go with them sunday.
as I understand it they unlock costumes for mario kart and hyrule warriors, and if you use it with smash brothers then the amiibo levels up to provide a high level opponent, kind of like ghost data. something like that anyway.
not entirely sure it grabs me, but they are nice so I might pick a few up at some point
lol

video game/Pixar mashups, brilliant

I was in the mood for some FPS action and lo and behold, CoD Advanced Warfare was half price in Tesco last night.
have played for a few hours now, and mixed feelings. it has some interesting mechanics thrown in, double jumping, wall climbing, a deployable riot shield, your own personal assault drone... but these things can only be used in very narrowly defined parameters. if you try to double jump on to a roof to get a better angle, nope. jumping is for scaling walls when told. the riot shield, despite being a simple fold away device, can only be taken out and used once per mission. same with the drone, and it tells you when to deploy it.
I get every Call of Duty, and they are enjoyable, but at this point they are so scripted they might as well just make films instead. there are loads of quick time events and the prompts are tiny and white, so they don't stand out at all from the background, they aren't even in a central position or anything. so what might be a cool sequence ends up just being a series of deaths as you learn the routine, by the time you do it it is no longer cool.
as usual for these games, your character is the rookie, new to the unit, and you get grudging praise at the end of the mission despite the fact the rest of your squad might as well not actually be there. 'Mitchell press the elevator button' 'Mitchell take out that tank' 'Mitchell, single handedly win this war whilst we sit around at the base and watch you on tv'. so after doing the entire mission yourself, 'not too bad Mitchell, you might turn out ok'. **** you. It is like at the end of Assassin's Creed 2 when, having single handedly foiled the Templars and killed more people than the plague, you are told 'not bad, you can join our gang' screw you, you can join my gang if you like. maybe.
During an early mission in Advanced Warfare, where you are in a simulated environment to get used to your new bionic arm, get up to scratch with the team etc. you can choose your own loadout. but during actual missions? no, you shall use the guns you are told to use. As shooters go, I much prefer Battlefield, which gives a lot more freedom. Sniper Elite is the best series though, choose your own gear at the start of the mission, pick your path, pick your style, actual skill involved in the shooting. think I will go download the Sniper Elite 3 DLC and save Churchill instead.
I've never got on with CoD. It just seems so dull. My fps of choice is still TF2, with the occasional foray into planetside 2.
I find it quite enjoyable most of the time. not enough that I ever get it on launch day, I got Advanced Warfare for £25 and that is the most I would pay for it. will trade it in this coming weekend for about £17 at Game. The reviews stated that this latest one took a leaf out of Titanfall's book and mixed things up a bit, was much more free flowing, varied etc. but the single player is still the same old scripted crap. it gets worse with each new release really, the same few mission types, like the obligatory stealth mission where you simply crawl after somebody else and do exactly what they do or you lose. I know people say 'oh but CoD is just a multiplayer game' but some of us remember when it was a refreshing and powerful single player game that pushed FPS' at the time.
in other news, I am a big fan of the Sniper Elite add ons, Na zi Zombies. and now there is a third installment in the series coming, along with the first two games, to PS4 and XB1. the best part, as well as the original main character, it adds a choice of eight others to play as, four of whom are female
Nice, hope it comes to PC.:)
The new one with the wimmins? Nifty.:) I'd play more shooters if they had more female protagonists.
This reminds me... The best game for making any kind of protagonist, hands-down, is Saints Row. Especially the latter entries. You can choose to be male or female, aren't locked into voice or gestures by gender, can make any body type you want, any skin color (though the voices are a bit limited in ethnic range, but heck, it's still amazing to have six different voices to read all those lines), and you can dress in any outfit you want. Want a female boss with a male voice? You got it! Fat black lady (example from a video about SR3)? Yep! Male boss who likes to wear dresses and style his hair like a 50s housewife? You can do that too! And in SR2, which still had "escort missions" (not the type of "escort missions" you're used to), you could do them as male or female. The latest one, which decided to just let people "romance" any member of the crew (kind of as a poke at Bioware), lets you go for any gender or even a robot, if you're into that.
Even Gat Out of Hell, which doesn't have you playing your "boss," gives you the choice of Gat or Kinzie, so you have male or female characters to play.
And while the stories are pretty silly and crazy, I think the female characters are pretty well-balanced, and actually strong characters.
The games aren't everyone's cup of tea, but heck, if you want fun (and funny) action games that let you go crazy with the type of character you play, it's worth dropping a little money on them. SR2 is when it starts getting good, then SR3 gives more options but starts the spiral into madness (glorious, wonderful madness).
Saints Row IV where one male voice option is Nolan North. It is listed as such, and he just plays himself. It is amazing
yup, **** Zombie Trilogy, out 6th of March, currently 60% off on Steam, £11.99.
I thoroughly recommend them. unlike shooters like CoD, you have to think about what you are doing, plan your approach and your shots, take your time... the zombies expansions have been ridiculed on sites like IGN for being totally unnecessary, a blatant cash in, totally different to the main game etc. but I think they are great, and being a different experience to the main game is exactly what expansions like that should be about in my opinion. when you are armed with a bolt action or semi automatic rifle having a horde of zombies running toward you is far more worrying then zombies in CoD where you load up on automatic weaponry. you can have a submachine gun or shotgun secondary weapon in Sniper Elite, but ammo is limited. you have to use a lot of booby traps, trip mines etc, and surviving is much more of a concern.
Sounds interesting, I like shooters with a bit of depth too. Don't carefor zombies at all, terribly boring as a rule but can put up with a lot more than zombies for female protagonists.:)
While you're calling zombies boring, don't you think it's lazy that every rpg fantasy game fills its dungeons/world with giant spiders?
TO be fair, if they filled them with Clowns, I'd be too terrified to enter any dungeon.
I love Zombies, but I can't explain why.
I am a bit of a gorehound when it comes to films though. And there is something undeniably cathartic about moral-free wailing on formerly human beings.
A couple of hours playing the L4D2 gibfest mutation is always fun...
