Oh good, I'm glad the ladybots are the big mystery plot if only because it takes something that was just kind of odd (the sudden appearance of the pronoun 'she' in the transformer vocabulary) and turns it into something rad. I've just been reading the summaries on the transformers wiki and they've just been having a hell of a good time with the Lost Light. Really, the whole shift from stuff on Earth to grand space opera has me thinking of coming back.
That explains a lot. Was wondering why it looked different 20+ years later.
Aletta One been around before Arcee. I think chroma was out with Aletta One. I remember the show had about 5 female auto bots in G1 and Arcee came out in the movie, or possibly the lost episode before the movie, the one with Metroplex first appearance.
I don't recall if the Marvel transformers had any female transformers in it. Although I thought Circuit Breaker could had made it to the regular Marvel Universe.
Elita-1, Chromia, Firestar and Moonracer appeared in one episode together (Elita-1 having a small appearance a bit later when the Aerialbots go back in time), but Arcee didn't appear until after the movie when the cartoon timeline jumped to the far future of 2007 (the Rodimus era). Marvel had Arcee, though given she was written by Furman it was yeah...
Curcuit breaker always reminded me of David Bowie's appearance at the end of Ghostbusters.
I tend to forget that Elita-Ones' group of ladybots were introduced before Arcee was in the film.
What I need to do is to win a fat old Euromillions Jackpot, and fund the dubbing of Headmasters and that by as many of the original voice cast that are still with us.
The current English dub is bloody awful
(Skip to 0:42 for the funner bits :P)

Ouch. My childhood.
The best Japan show was Supergod Masterforce. Ginrai fought a combiner by repeatedly summoning and dismissing his trailer and later saved the universe with the power of Burning Justice. Loved that show.
Has anyone been reading the new transformers comic that continues from where the last issue ends of the marvel comics back in the day?
I like it :)
I think he's talking about this one

It's called Transformers: Regeneration One, it picks up after the original Marvel comic ended, they did the same for GI Joe as well....
Of course us British readers got more transformers stories then the Yanks did, as the comic was weekly in the UK, while monthly in the States, though they were in B&W they are well worth a read.. some very good comic and novel authors cut their teeth on it, including a certain Gaunts Ghost writer :)
Oh, neat.
That is indeed what I was talking about.
Simon Furman has been pushing it at the last couple of Comic cons in London. I'm really enjoying the old skool-ness :)
Furman is it? So on a scale of 1-5 how badly does he screw up the lady bots?:p
You'll have to read it to find out :D
Or check the wiki.
Edit: Actually Furman being Furman there probably aren't any lady boys and the boybots are ostensibly genderless except they all use male pronouns and look and behave in a masculine fashion...
Budding gave us the Vok, which is neat to see them run with such a weird idea.
So, Windblade's toy has been revealed!

As much as I want to contribute to a successful release of a new female mech, I've restricted myself to legion/cyberverse models. Hopefully she'll get one of those in the future.
Oooh, very nice!
*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*
I'll take a Jetfire and a Soundwave, Thankyouplease.
Mmm, Masterpiece Soundwave is pretty awesome. Like the idea of getting lots of little guys with the one big guy, fun to play with :P
Another shot of Windblade; mediocre photo, but robot mode still looks good, jet looks alright. Transformer swords are often kinda stubby, but hers is pretty great.

And for Mr Mystery, Jetfire looks just as good as his promotional pics;

And while I never saw his version of Transformers as a kid, there's something about a robot shark with a haiku-fixation that pleases me;

Badass
And Hound is going grizzly-man it seems:

Love, love love LOVE Windblade.
Hound looks like he would make a fantastic Bulkhead but whats with those arms? Does not like.
I think they're meant to be like ammo feeds for his hilariously phallic in that photo weapon.
I see what you mean.>< they look kind of ridiculous still.
But one can never have too many weapons, yes?

Mmm... eighteen barrels of hell...
I fracking love Deaths Head, I was so glad he had a cameo appearance in one of the Superior Spidy comics a while back....
Windblade > Deaths Head. Hehe.
I'm on the fence with Windblade as she's hitting a little too close to Drift on a lot of things. I loved Death's Head in SWORD and hope this means he's spending more time being a giant and weird in the main books.

**** yeah fanart. You can buy it on Etsy
That is pretty cool :)
Looking forward to the new film, and to those disappointed in the last three....I paid to see 80' tall robots knocking seven bells out of each other, with Megan Fox's charms wobbling about in slow motion. And I got what I paid for. What were you expecting good sirs :p
I liked the first film, Revenge of the Fallen was ****ing awful (Bay putting in ladybots due to fan demand then killing them off just to upset the fans, IDW sensible retconned that in the comics) and I forget if I've seen the third one or not. I may or may not see Age of Extinction.
I like them because they were big, overblown, and completely silly. Just how I remember my childhood!
Don't recall Arcee getting jobbed though? Should probably pay more attention.
For my money, Dark of the Moon is an improvement on the second film.
Well you only see two of the ladybots get offed but after Bay confirmed all three died, then the comics retconned it so only one died 'cos people were really cranky about it.
Yepm completely passed me by! I'm aware of Arcee and that, but not them getting squished.
Urgh. Racialstereotypeotron and his 'brother'. Urgh. Possibly worse than Binks?
