Chicago 40k CosPlay

Psych!
Now that I have yer attention... i was walking to work today (downtown Chicago) and noticed these awesome fake 'ruins' in a huge abandoned lot... Pretty sure they are going to be having some sort of Emergency Management Drill... but man... these craters are awesome!!! I think I could actually be convinced to play some CosPlay if there were ruins like these to run around and go 'pew pew pew' with my fake lasgun ;)

Actually I'm going to a convention in October, and I'm going as one of the fighting men of the Imperium - an Imperial Guardsman.

I have ideas on how to make the helmet and lasgun and fatigues, but the flak armor itself I'm still formulating ideas on how the hell to make it.
