So my club meet every Wednesday and last Wednesday was the 1st of September, what else were we going to play? lol

This was a large game for 6 players and used all of my friends German and Polish forces. The terrain is mine.

The Board:

The Poles deployed thier forces and the the German objective was to leave via the Polish board edge with at least 3 Platoons. The Poles had an Infantry COY, 75mm Arty battery, 40mm Bofors battery, 37mm AT platoon, Machine gun platoon, Mortar platoon, Light tank platoon and some mystery reinforcements that could appear at any time.

The Germans had a Light tank COY, 2 platoons of Panzergrenediers in 251's, Recce platoon on motocycles,
Pioneer platoon, 37mm AT platoon, Machine gun platoon, 75mm Arty battery, off table 105mm Arty Battery and of course Stukas.

The Poles were played by three players who, to be fair, have little experiance of FOW being 18th century and Sci Fi wargamers and the Polish deployment refected this, especially thier AA which was no where near there Arty. I would punish them for this later:D

The Germans poured onto the board heading for a nice big gap the Poles had left, very inviting!

The off table 105mm's and the Stuka's gave the Polish Arty the good news, although little damage was done.

Whilst the onboard 75mm's plastered the badly deployed Bofors guns in the large building. The Polish light armour started to move towards the Panzers but they were so far away it looked doubtful they would get there in time. Polish return fire was ineffective.

On the other flank the German machine guns moved up and the Pioneers skullked about a bit, whilst the German Recce and 1 Panzergrenedier unit decided to advance towards what was left of the Boffors position.

The Panzers were within spitting distance of their objectives and we Germans were getting quite cocky when THE ARMOURED TRAIN ARRIVED! Bugger.........

The Train quickly went to work and dropped off a FT17 and brewed up two P111's another P111 bailing out.

Everything was thrown at the Train! 105mm's, 75mm's, Stukas and Tank fire and it took all of it to stop the armoured beast. The last shots fired by a 38t, blowing up the troop carriage and killing all inside (worst saving rolls Ive ever seen) Whilst all this was going on the Polish light tanks gained the time they needed to get into the fight. On the other flank worried by the Recce's advance the Poles called up more troops.

Now I did try and tell my 18th Century playing opponant, but he wouldn't listen and gleefully Cavalry charged the German Motocycles and as we all know, horses are no match for MG34's. The results were predictable.

A tank battle developed on the other side, but the Poles armour was no match for the Germans and finally the breakthrough was achieved.

We had a great game and everyone had enjoyed themselves, a full nights entertainment.

And all of this was achieved (A balanced, enjoyable game) without any points values!:D
