From the mysterious: Mr. Mystery (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/315070.page)

Just had a new Forgeworld goodie described to me....

Apparently, it looks kind of like a cross between a mechanical Trygon, and a Centipede, replete with large 'feelers'. And the overlook is seemingly more organic in shape than the Tomb Spyder.

And check out the image...could be a necron, or a ZOID, or a bedbug... who can say.

If thats genuine and a sign of awesome necron goodness to come then I'm getting a big metal space bug army.

If thats the new Tomb Spider i approve. I can see it bursting from the ground as the tomb world awakens.

However if its FW, not a GW straight product doubt its something for the army as a unit. Given the only FW necron stuff so far is the pylon (I think) its more liekly to be an apoc unit.

But then i've been wrong in the past. If DE are November (and announced at GD in a few weeks), GK are January/Feb does that give credence to rumours of Necrons being next? Resurrecting themselves about April time?

Necron love? If my little metal guys had hearts, they'd most likely be warmed.

If this is the direction that they're going with Necrons, I'm very excited. I'll finally have something really cool to add to my legion of little Terminators.

We are the Borg.
You will stand down and escort us to sector 0, 0, 1, where you will be assimilated.

The model does look really cool. Not sure if I am into this whole metal bug direction, but then again, it is only one "alleged" model, not a new lineup of models.

Having a modest Necron army (8000 pts) and the lone FW Model, the Pylon is nice but you really need two or three of them to take down an opponent that brings Titan groups to the table. The Undying Legion (I think that is the name, could be wrong) is a great Objective holding formation. The addition of another Gargantuan creature or Super Heavy for the army is very welcome. Hope it is available before my club's November Apocalypse event.

Perhaps this is a redesigned Tomb Stalker?

Hey wasn't there a rumor (way back) that a void dragon model would be made. Cuz thats the first thing that popped in my mind when i saw that.

It looks more like a tyrnaid than a necron model to me- pic is a bit blurry. The claws do look mechanical

There was confirmation, in the Forgeworld Q&A at GamesDay in Baltimore, of a new Necron model from Forgeworld. There were no pics, or any other details, but it was explicitly mentioned in response to an audience question.

Why do 'crons only get a FW model after all this waiting? I'd rather have a usable update than a probably stat-less model there for show

It shouldn't be too long until they get a new codex. Besides, Grey Knights have waited a long time, too, and they've only gotten a Forgeworld GK Land Raider Redeemer and one or two datasheets. Witchhunters have gotten even less. Same thing with Dark Eldar.

Last I heard, FW was doing a one off necron sculpt kind of for S&G.

Your not alone in that; it's point for point the same things I thought.
It looks so much more organic then it does mechanical.

Unless... they are actually advancing the story arc for 'Crons; and it's in someway similar to a pariahs (in that they took organic lifeforms and necron-ized them), or an experiment in ways for the Necrontyr to have living bodies (instead of being cursed to a half existance as a drone machine).

If Pariah = Necron/Human hybrid

Then perhaps Mystery Pic = Necron/Tyranid hybrid?

GW won't make a Void Dragon model, for the simple reason that it is rumoured to be locked away in the centre of Mars. The same reason that it won't be the Outsider who has Frozen himself in a sort of stasis field near to where Hive Fleet Kracken is. It could however be (sticking with the C'tan ideology) one of the few remaining Gods.

I knew something seemed off, but I still kept hope up, as it WAS rumored to be made on a drunken whim, and it looked like a drunk took that pic from their cell...
This DOES however mean that this hunk of crap isn't the forgeworld model, so that's a nice consolation prize.

FYI, Scryer on Warseer has indicated that he still stands by the image. Additionally, the Voice has chimed in as well:

the Voice @ warseer:

+1 to this. I found it amazing how easily people were fooled by an obvious fraud.

I am curious as to what exactly makes it an "obvious fraud"

Because it's not.

This is The Truth

Only contention point is whether he meant that it was not obvious or that it was not fraud.

Yes, however his comment was in relation to another comment asking whether it was a GW model or a FW model. In that context, the Voice said it is not a GW model which, given our weird and crazy version of english, means that of the two options forgeworld is the source.

Now this looks great, and actually mechanical. Totally kick-awesome.
Necrons are finally getting some love; and check out the rules:
Monsterous with two ranged weapons, bonus attack on the charge, anti-poison rules.

Not sure i agree with the anti poison rules. I know why they've done it, and I think its a great way of representing the necron metal, and making a MC a little harder.

I assume these wouldn't affect Eldar Witchblades, Sternguards acid rounds...cos they're not poison just set wound rolls

No, the rule seems pretty clear: snipers, the poison ability and the like (as opposed to the 4+, 2+, that would have been normal).
It looks to affect all special rules that have a fixed wound rolls.

And sternguard hellfire rounds are poison anyways.
