Slay the Warlord and Necron resurrecting

There is a Necron strategem that can be used after a character is slain to resurrect them.
Slay the warlord says you get a victory point if your opponant's warlord was slain.

My question is: If a Necron character is slain and subsequently resurrected but not slain again does the other player still get a point for slay the warlord?

I've been playing as they do get the point since the character has to be slain to resurrect.
