Storm Lances

I converted and painted this unit to enter into the 2010 P3 Grandmasters painting competition (at Gencon). They got a silver medal.

For those of you unfamiliar with the sculpts, the leader mini started out looking exactly like the other two. The head was swapped, and the hand was sculpted from scratch.

I was running way behind and finally finished these guys at two in the morning before my flight left. I took a two hour nap before driving to the airport.

Fantastic looking work. Great head swap on the leader, and I love the hand holding the helmet on the horse's back. Great color choice, and even better weathering.

Edit: May be a little bias, one of the factions I play is Cygnar after all.

I suppose some bias might enter into it, but most of the time, I figure a mini is a mini, and some pretty outstanding minis come out for factions or even games that I don't play.

(by the way, I do play Warmachine, so I'm mostly talking about other games I don't play).
