IA9: Badab War Confirmed (video)

Forgeworld showed off the Badab War today at Gamesday North America 2010.

It explains all the marine armor marks we've seen, as well a huge pile of upcoming ones, including a Terminator-clad Huron pre-melta to the face!

I started a STAR PHANTOMS space marine army, I hope they borrow the color scheme we all voted on, that I used to paint my army( all the troops are RTBO1, so old MK armor is right up my alley!), well at least I'll have a cool looking army, but my intention was to have a collection of BADAB WAR armies starting with the START PHANTOMS, then LAMENTERS next, of course, and put that BLOOD ANGELS codex to the test!

I may have to pick this one up; the Badab War was one of the stories from the early days that really appealed to me. Disappointed from a wallet standpoint that it's in two parts, but will hopefully be good.

More Reaver Weapons planned when schedule permits, likely after the Eldar titan is done. Volcano Cannon at the top of the list.


*Maybe as in no plans, probably not going to happen but we aren't going to admit it lest Eldargal smite us with righteous fury, in the face.

Oh and apparently the Eldar IA is going to be IA11 not IA10 now, with 10 being the second part of the Badab war. Meh.

This is kinda cool. The armour books are always a good read, but the front page artwork is very meh.

Every time I stop my self from saleing a kidney to play a mostly FW red scorpion force FW finds a new way to pull me back in I have a feeling one of my next armies is going to be the scorpions..

I'm totally with eldargal and fuzzbuket. Bring on IA11! Space Wolves and Guard Vs. Eldar. Too classy. I can't wait to see what they come up with! There's something so right about Space Wolves fighting Eldar.

Nah i bet they just wrote too much for Badab and decided to split it. One book Loyalist, one book renegades. Or one book in the arms race, early raids part and a 2nd in the open warfare of the end

I hear the split is the space-based raids and combat in volume 1, and the land based Siege of Badab in part 2.

Yep, Badab book became too large so they split it, nothing to do with Phanton titan thankfully. I vaguely recall reading someone from FW quoted as saying they were not going to release multi-volume books back to back so we might see the Eldar book after the first Badab book. but I'm not sure I am remembering that right.

Well, I just ordered a squad of every type of Armor so I can have one squad of each in my Crimson Templar army. Just too cool not to have.

Badab will be nice as the latest volume, RAID ON KASTOREL-NOVEM, didn't hold my interest much. Raven Guard are very cool, love the fluff, and it is an interesting story. But I have a hard time with Orks in 40K. They started out as comic relief and I can't take them seriously. I know it is Sci Fi, but I don't think Orks fit into the 40K universe now. Just me.

None the less Badab will be interesting and worthy of two volumes.

And the best thing? Actually reasonably priced! Command Squad + Librarian + Resin'd normally be £50 from FW, but its like £36 this time round. Good stuff.
