I have spoken this week with my good buddy and partner Yuri - we are currently planning to run Bolter Beach II the last weekend of January 2011. We will be making some changes to the previous format borrowing some ideas from the good fellows over at BoLS and Mike Brandt of the NOVA Open. What you can expect are more great missions, another awesome team tournament and lots and lots of prize support again. I am going to try to get the event on the GW circuit so we can give out some more Golden Tickets to Las Vegas for the upcoming Throne of Skulls GT.
The winter is the best time to visit us here in Florida as the weather is fantastic that time of the year. One of our goals is to double our attendance this time around so start making plans now. Everyone is welcome to attend !
Changes
• This time around there will be no soft scoring for army composition.
• The second day of the GT we will split the players into two groups so that everyone has the opportunity to win an award.
• Hard scores will be based upon your battle points (primary, secondary and tertiary plus some tactical bonuses) and your strength of showing. Strength of showing will be based upon how well you perform against each of your opponents so you'll score extra battle points when you defeat a higher ranked opponent.
• Points for appearance/painting and your army theme will go towards a separate and independent award, so the only soft points for best overall will be your battle points and sportsmanship scores.
These changes will help to create a more competitive event while still rewarding players for good conduct during your games.
