My friend Elliot went to BOLS/WARGAMES Con and won best painted model at the Wargames Con this year. He won with a model that I initially made fun of because he decided to mod an Ogre model into an Ogryn model literally at the last minute for no good reason. I had nicknamed the model "Bluto" because, well, it initially looked like "Bluto" from "Popeye."

Well, I was wrong and Elliot managed to pull it off, quite nicely I might add.

Ogryns, like the Squats, have seemed to get the shaft ever since third edition so I decided to write up a rule set that had the spirit of the second edition 40k rules.

He has a lot of abilities, but the randomness adds a lot of fun to the game that's been taken out by the oversimplification of the game over the years.

Are you going to play it safe and shoot at that Chimera with his Super Krak Grenade launcher and then charge and attack with his Super Krak grenades in hand to hand, or do you dare take a chance and pull out an item from his "Bag of Boominess"?

He's also very balanced. Every ying has a yang with Blutorski's abilities.

I think he's appropriately point costed out at 95 points. 95 points is the same cost for a Storm Trooper squad with two grenade launchers, and in most cases the Storm Trooper squad would be more effective than Blutorski, but Blutorski's random weapon choices and the fun factor more than make up for it. :D

Here are the rules for Lt. Blutorski:
