Do you even need to get the 8th edition Indexes and full rule book to play? Battlescribe gives the stats and the rules that pertain to each model. You can download the basic rules, so what more do the indexes and full rule book give to you?

as nice *** Battlescribe is, nothing beats a hard copy for me. As for the full rule book, there's some advanced rules in it, missions, objectives, some of the add on's like Cities of Death and Planet Strike. There's also detachment and command points information in there.

Would suggest getting the rulebook - as Ravingbantha states there is some useful stuff in there...
regarding the indexes, you could try and "locate" the information online (I understand 3++ has a large selection), or you could stick with just one army/index for a couple of months (until the codex's start dropping) in which case multiple army rules for £15 is not bad - probably go for Imperium 2 if you have the models as this gives a fairly wide range of armies from Sisters to Admech all of which are useable together (even after the codex's start dropping Imperium 2 will still have use as people will probably not want to get a codex for things like assassins etc.)...

I'ld say get the book because beyond the core rules they have posted stuff in relation to gaming scenarios like "city fight". But I believe the ruins rules get fleshed out some more.
