From the news letter:
Exclusive Sneak Peek
Last week’s MkV ‘Heresy’ pattern power armour helmet has clearly piqued many peoples’ interest. We have been inundated with e-mails and telephone calls, all seeking more details about this Top Secret project – it’s still under lock and key, but our agents have managed to obtain another exclusive work-in-progress glimpse of some of the many forthcoming Space Marine releases that our talented Studio team are working on. Many boffins died to bring us this information, but despite their sacrifice all we can say for now is that it is well and truly set in the 41st Millenium…
I'm excited.

Well fact remains Forge World have confirmed that IA9 is Space Marines. Its just waiting to see what goodies we get. Out of interest, it says "definently set in 41st millenium...when was the Badab War in the timeline?

That looks like a Mk.3 or perhaps and artist's impresison of a Mk.2.
So word for years has been that GW has a policy in place to never produce a Heresy era ruleset regardless of its popularity because the game is set in the 41st Millennia. Apparently the fear is there might be some confusion or the risk of splitting the community with Heresy era gaming.
I have a feeling Forgeworld has found a loophole via a campaign book set in the 41st Millennia that has a fair amount of Heresy-era equipment being used for one reason or another...
As a Heresy-era modeler, I approve!

Do we think this is gonna be a specific old school chapter (please be Iron Hands) or general early Mk armours to sprinkle into your existing army?

Many boffins died to bring us this information,
It's many Bothans died to bring us this information. not sure what a boffin is supposed to be.

I'm just really excited to see all the new armor types coming out- I'm an avid heresy-era modeler and would like to see it get more love from GW than it has. Granted, the novel series has been by and large excellent (with a few notable exceptions), but some hobby support would be nice.
And yes, I know it's firmly set in the 41st millennium, but a loophole apparently exists...

I wonder if they'll go down the same path as some of the other marine kits where you get torsos, heads, shoulder pads and a few backpacks but have to use standard type VII plastic legs. Hope not, they may pass as type III, but not as anything else.
All I know for certain is; if FW releases a whole line of pre-heresy armour... Death Guard here I come. :D

Well, its more likely to be the Badab War, but I agree on the sentiment. Want the Eldar vs Foreigners/non-Eldar IA and the accompnying Phantom Titan already.

Isn't the next IA book meant to be Space Wolves vs. I dont know whom?
In this case could these models be part of a Logar's 13th brigade or whatever the squad was that disappeared with the SW primarch?
That would be interesting!!!

Actually "Boffins" are usually insane people. There the guys that work in secret labs dreaming up wacky idea's that on paper look beyond stupid.
Barnes Wallace is the classic example of a Boffin, Bouncing Bombs anybody?
On a side note for Star Wars fans, the worlds worst actor (Stay on target, stay on target! This is Gold leader, lost Parry, lost Hutch, They came from.... Behind! Agggghhhhhh!!!!!!!) Lives just down the road from me:D
