View Full Version : Attaching Banshees to a resin base

I found some old resin bases I bought and forgot about, and decided to attach my Farseer and Howling Banshees to them. Before I go clipping off the existing base and tab, I'm worried that their little feminine feet might not be enough to anchor them securely to the base, and they are far too small for pinning. How secure would the bond be with just a dab of superglue?
I doubt just superglue will be secure enough.
Pin them. Use sewing needles, these should be small enough to pin a Eldar leg/ foot even if you have to pin at an angle.

Alone just the eldar i highly doubt it. If your the creative type you could design some kickass bases for them

Hm, wonder if I could leave a small piece of the tab on the foot to act as a pin. Would have to drill into the resin though.

the tab will inevitably break. Cut it completely clean and pin them on, i've pinned the arms on old metall daemonettes you just need small enough wire and drill bit and a lot of patience. Drilling into resin isn't too bad as it makes a swarf rather than dust in general so as long as you hoover afterwards you shouldn't need a dust mask.

^ what he said.
I've pinned several of mine through their feet into resin bases.
Not just through the toes. The hole for the pin goes at an angle if necessary into the meat of the foot (around 5mm) and almost through the base (7.5mm or so pin length).
I've pinned spearheads to shafts (1mm) before. Feet to bases are easier.

I acually saw someone pin the resin bases at the local store this week. Wasnt Banshees but it looked fairly easy

Standing them on small blobs of greenstuff and then supergluing the edges after the green stuff dries seems to work best for me.
You just have to be careful not to use too much GS so that it spills out around the foot, or trim it afterwards

I know someone who uses a small burr to dig a tiny hole in each foot and base, then uses the smallest magnets i have ever seen, and somehow they say upright

This is what I've done.

You could also try a small bit of epoxy putty. That worked for me with a few malifaux minis with resin bases.
