Basic plan for the army? Kroot mercenaries. Krootzilla style!
How? Using the Tau empire codex and Imperial armour 4
Colour scheme with be a mix of muted greens and vibrant oranges....

Started some work on what will become a Stealthsuit unit, or as they are known in the 'Kindred of Solace', the 'Yautja Kindred'

Kroot are deffo not done enough, after my Krieg force I just had to do kroot, I wanted to do them a while ago but my skill werent good enough!

After a quick ole google search I see what you mean, thats an interesting idea, perhapds a Rogue Tau or even Catachan working alongside the kroot!

Yea, I had done a few Kroot/Predator conversions a while ago for a 28mm Inq campaign I was playing in, when I started this army and after having watched Predators I just knew I had to include a unit of Predators :D


why did you base your models before painting~?
It was kinda accidental, I didn't have any other base available (Although some have now been rebased)
Dont worry about it too much, I'm going for a swamp/marsh theme with the basing, once its all painted it should look alright, the hunters are nearly done now so I will get a wip of them up soon!

I'm tempted to change the list slightly and drop the Goaded Knarloc and replace (with some points shifting) 2 Carnosaurs (with kroot crew of course) armed with Smart missiles and rail guns - Broadsides counts as. Thi way I get some proper Anti tank in the army and still keep the krootzilla theme with 9 fairly big monsters in the army :D

yeah, noguchi is the ultimate bad-***. compact japanese business woman hated by the very people she tried to look after caught up in a predator training mission gone wrong, takes down most of a training pack with an injured predator, a load ALIENS trying to eat them, and is the only survivor. seriously, i love the original AvP, ALIENS, and Predator stuff. Proper tuff sci-fi!

Done some work on the Hunter Kindred (Drone Sniper Team)[Minus the Shapers/Drone controllers]
The base where a test but I rather like the way they have come out but will do ome more experimentation on the Yautja Kindred (Stealth Team) most likely, At the moment the main thing I want to change is too add in some reed like plants and too add in a more jungle/swamp like theme.
Also changed the colour scheme of the force, making the Quills a brighter orange. Added in some Warpaint too! Also finally dullled down the metals. More details etc to go yet....

No real update,
But I want to pose some questions too the community!

In keeping with what will eventually become the Krootzilla theme I want to proxy some Battlesuits (For the commander) and some broadsides.
Would the linked models be suitable, with some conversion of course and appropiate mounts etc!

i believe you could by making it as if they were "salvaged" or showing the wear and tear of a life of jungle warfare. I think they will turn out nice considering your previous work is superb

I love seeing Kroot armies! I still think they got ripped off when the Tau book came along... the Kroot have been around since the days of Rogue Trader, at least in the fluff. Then they become a service race to a pulled out of the derriere race that no one in the galaxy had ever heard of? They got gypped bad.

As to your question on the Suits and your links. I think the Carnosaur is an awesome idea, the WHFB Dragon, not so much. Just my opinion though!

They are going to count as Broadsides. Gonna get another one soon. After than I need to get the weapons for them. Plan after that is to hit up a couple of Battlewheels. Inspired by Faultie.

Also working on a Stalker Kindred atm!

From the thread title I was expecting Kroot counts as Nids.

They are looking pretty fun. Cant wait to see the hq models you are putting together.
